Why, roy?

I’m not sure if this is a hack or a glitch…. But it all starts when I was 8 I loved my damn squirtel in fire red, but before diamond came out I forgot about the little guy his name was omega meaning the last pokemon I was going to get  willingly. I found the same exact squirtel on my black [I can read japanese and had gotten the japan version of the game] I was like awesome I glitched squirtel, but after I paid attention to his information it was like my blood went cold I saw it was the same old omega I had. It showed everything the time I got it, the level, and of course the user ID except there was something wrong with him…. I shook it off at first, but when I showed my older brother it he was shocked at what he saw [He’s a big pokemon fan and knew something was way off about it] the squirtel was scowling and a random text box saying  ” Why did you leave me, roy?” I’ve seen stuff like this happen, but I was in tears I defeated everything with him then I lost him now he has reappeared betrayed by his own master. I simply told my brother to leave, and that it was just a silly glitch, but I knew it was much much more than that….

Flame

I took off a poke ball from my waistband and held it in my hands carefully. Inside held my dear Charizard, Flame; she’s been through the ups and downs of my journey to the Elite 4. Finally, today I’m here, and Flame can help me become the champion! I held the poke ball to my chest and released her in front of the opponent’s Venesaur. The first Elite 4 member used the command leech seed and I used flamethrower, it was effective considering fire would burn grass types.  One right after the next we swept through the Elite four members, then it came time for the champion.

            Rachel, the champion, looked at me in astonishment. “Such a young girl,” she said so softly it sounded like a whisper. “You must be strong to come this far, I’m sure your mother is very proud of you!” She gave a small, sad smile and took out a poke ball from her bag. “This, this Pokémon, is my prized possession. He is dear to me and never lost me a battle; he hung in for me through thick and thin. I give him all the love and comfort he needs to let him know I love him. I praise him after each win, and if he would have ever lost I would say it was ok and we could try again when he felt like up to it. I can see your Charizard loves you dearly.” I nodded with great happiness to prove that I loved Flame. “I take care of my Flame and tell her she does great and I love her no matter what. She is my darling little Charizard and I love her.” I rushed out while Rachel stared at me and at my Charizard. Rachel nodded and sent out her prized Pokémon which was a Blastoise. “Blastoise, use Hydro Pump!” Rachel commanded and the Pokémon did just as she said. A beam of water flew towards Flame, she dodged, but a little spot of water landed on her tail, almost killing the flame. Flame’s eyes grew angrier, almost evil, as she turned around towards me waiting for her command. “Fl-Flame, use flamethrower.” I stammered after I saw the look in her eyes. Flame viciously used the flame attack, forcing Blastoise onto his back. Rachel ran up to Blastoise trying to shake him to get up. “Blastoise? G-get up Blastoise, wh-why aren’t you getting up? Time to get into your ball and get healed.” Rachel cried out, tears streaming down her face. I looked over to Flame whom seemed to be smiling with satisfaction and revenge at the same time. I ran over to Rachel to hope I could help. “He’s gone. He’s dead, my baby’s dead!” She cried as she slumped into my arms. “It’s ok Rachel; I will get help as soon as possible. I have no clue what had gotten over Flame…” I stood up and walked out of the room.

            Rachel looked at Flame, who seemed to have a sad innocent look on her face, “It’s alright Flame, you didn’t mean to do this. He was getting pretty old and probably couldn’t take much more.” She slowly walked up to Flame with her arms wide open. Flame looked down and hugged Rachel.

            I walked back into the room with those two in that position. “I told Flame every thing’s alright.” Rachel reported. “Help is coming pretty soon, I’m sorry yet again, let me send you some flowers or somethi-“ “Oh, no. Don’t do that, it’s alright, okay?” Rachel interrupted. I nodded and said my goodbye calling out to Flame to follow.

            Flame stood in the doorway looking back at Rachel’s force smile as she waved goodbye. Flame growled and lunged forth grabbing her by her neck, her teeth sunk into Rachel’s soft flesh. The taste of blood tempted Flame for more, but a part of her felt guilt, but it was a very small part and didn’t bother her any.

            I looked at the door to my house and sighed, “Ah, it’s good to be home again, isn’t it Flame?” She nodded to me and pushed open the door to be greeted by Mom. “Hey Lilla, how have you been?”  I looked at her and must have set a mother alarm or something because her expression melted into concern. “I battled Rachel, the champion today. Um, her, her Blastoise died in the battle.” I sadly said. “Oh no, dear you must be depressed. I’m so sorry that happened to you!” I lowered my voice to make sure Flame didn’t hear me, “I think Flame accidently killed her Blastoise. She was the last to attack and it was so fierce, and her eyes…. Her eyes had a strange hue to them. They almost seemed as if they belonged  to someone… evil.” Mom gasped, “That is interesting. For now on, Lilla, I want you to put Flame into her poke ball at night, for safe reasoning.” I shook my head, “I trust my Flame, if you don’t then I’ll just go somewhere else!” Mom sighed and tried to make me stay and I finally agreed to keep Flame in her pole ball.

            The next day I received a phone call from the police asking me if I knew anything about Rachel’s death. “Rachel’s dead!” I exclaimed into the phone, “Yes ma’am. She seemed to have been brutally murdered by what seems to be a Pokémon. There are claw marks on her body and her throat is ripped out.” “I- I have to see her…” “It’s a pretty morbid scene. You’re a little too young, I advise you don’t…” He kept warning me. I hung up the phone in anger and ran to tell my mother someone… or something … had murdered the champion. “Oh, my, that poor girl…” Is all she kept saying. I shrugged it all off and started to get out Flame’s poke ball to let her out. She looked at me with sorrowful eyes and a hint of anger. What had I done? I warily walked over to the dragon Pokémon extended my hand to softly touch her flank. “I’m sorry Flame, it was mother’s idea. I never really wanted to do this, but she forced me. P-please forgive me?” I looked deep into her eyes which seemed to harbor a new emotion: hatred. I was taken aback by this, but soon she gave me a warm hug, forgiving what I was forced to do. “That’s quite the little lizard. How could you hug that thing?” My mom commented. I just scoffed and walked out the door, yet again, calling for Flame.

            I bumped into my old rival, Yellow, whom was oddly named and I never knew why. “Well, well, lookie who we have here, Lilla Gotta. Where are your sisters, Janet Catchem and Vernet All?” He let out a chuckle as I looked at him as if I were about to beat the snot out of him, and I was. “Gotta Catchem All, dontcha?” I raised my fist just as Flame came out looking at both of us. She slightly growled at Yellow with that same look of hatred in her eyes. “Leave us alone Yellow snow. Come, Flame, let us be on our way to your favorite town.” Flame smiled at me then looked at Yellow and glared. He flinched a little and whipped out a poke ball, “You can’t tell me your leaving without a little fight.” “Oh, I’ll fight you alright, to a bloody pulp!” I growled as I kept walking. “Come on, Lilla, You know you want to battle. My Houndoom, Killer, against your Charizard, Crapface.” He gave a mischievous smile; no one could make fun of Flame and get away with it. I looked at Flame; she nodded, ready to battle this arrogant fool. “Fine, Yellow snow, let us battle and let me win!” He scoffed and opened his poke ball releasing Houndoom. He looked paler than usual, and his eyes were dull and lifeless. “Y-you Killer doesn’t look too good. I think you should take him to the PokeCenter.” He ignored my advice and commanded Killer to use bite.

            Charizard easily dodged and used metal claw, knocking of some hit points from Killer. “Nice shot, but Killer will rip your Crapface to shreds! Killer, use crunch!” Houndoom stood up, painfully, and used crunch. It hit Flame with a feeble blow, but even that little bit of an attack made Flame very angry and her eyes changed again, just like when we were battling Rachel and her Blastoise. Flame turned towards me waiting for my single command, with those almost pure evil eyes. “F-Flame, use fire spin!” I stammered with fear. Flame shot out a ring of fire at the Houndoom which was now trapped in the vortex. “Killer, you useless Pokémon, do something god for us and finish him off with CURSE!” I looked astonished, Houndoom learn the move curse? I never thought so… Houndoom looked fearfully at his trainer and then looked at Charizard. I noticed the fear and sorrow in his eyes, he must look so sickly because of this move. “You’re making your Houndoom sick! Stop using that move!” I shouted at the top of my lungs. “It’s not the move; he was diagnosed with some Pokémon disease.” I looked at him and then at Houndoom, “Why are you forcing him to battle when he should be resting? I’m quite sure he’s not appreciating all of this.” “Killer is my Pokémon and I’ll treat him the way I want to treat him. I’m not taking advice from other trainers that don’t know much about my Pokémon!”

            I shook my head in disappointment. “Flame, use flamethrower.” Flame shot out a flame of fire from her mouth that shot straight towards Houndoom, knocking him over. He lay still for quite some time, I immediately ran over to him. “What the hell did you do to my Houndoom?” I looked down at the nonmoving Pokémon. “I-I didn’t do anything. He was sick…” “It’s all your Shitface’s fault!” He screamed pointing a finger at Flame whom seemed so innocent at the time. Flame growled and glared fiercely at Yellow, walking towards him with the hatred revengeful look in her eyes. “Flame! Come on, we’ve done enough.” Yellow looked at the dragon coming towards him and laughed, “Control your squirt!” Flame plunged at Yellow and ripped off his arms. I quickly covered my eyes and ears, but I still could hear the muffled screams of agony. I peeked through my hands to see what Flame was doing, but all I saw was a huge blood pool on the ground and Yellow’s body parts scattered all over. Flame held his head in her claws; she seemed to be mocking him as she was making different noises. I’d figure she’d be saying, “Who’s the Shitface now, punk?” I nearly puked at the scene when I got up to grab Flame. She looked at me like she was showing me something to be proud of.

            I ran towards my house to hope everything would be just fine, I would bawl in my mother’s arms and tell her she was right about Flame. Flame, I still love her so much, it seems as if I really don’t care what she just did, or just don’t want to believe she had just done it. As I opened the door, I was greeted by yet another bloody mess. My mother lay on the floor, fear and regret in her dead eyes. Blood pooled around her, covering the whole floor. I let out a scream of horror as I stepped onto my mother’s left arm. Flame flew into the house to comfort me but I backed away. “Y-you did this. You killed them. Why did you kill them? Flame, I loved you… w-why would you do something like this?” Flame opened her mouth and started to speak in a low demonic tone, “It’s for you, Lilla, all for you. You hated these people, so I killed them-““You NEVER did anything like this before! Why would you start to do all of this now?” I retorted with tears streaming down my face. “That Blastoise triggered my tale. I was near death then.” I gasped. “Why would you let this thing get a hold of you. This has to be some d-demon or something…” Flame slashed out a claw on my arm, making blood pour out and mix with my mother’s. “Foolish child, I was like this all along, all Pokémon are. You people just tame us and we fall in love with you. We do enjoy the various battles and forget about our past… but… when we’re mistreated, overworked, or close to death, that wild side of us comes out. We go on a rampage killing the Pokémon that harmed us and their trainers. We kill every person our trainer hates to please them. I did this to please you, Lilla. Aren’t you pleased with me?” I just stared at Flame as she talked all this nonsense. “But, I loved my mother… I cannot be pleased with this Flame… I’m not bloodthirsty like you are… or originally were.” I walked over to Flame who had sorrow and anger on her eyes. “Flame… I love you still… never will stop, no matter what…. Flame, please, just come back to your normal self and-““No! I will not! This is me now. This is what I am, what I’ve become. Accept it or burn in HELL!” I shook my head to myself then looked up at Flame. “Flame, I love you no matter what, I will have to accept what you are.” She smiled and in her low demonic voice, said, “That’s better. Now, let us visit your dear friend Hazel…” I shook my head, “You know I dislike Hazel, you can’t just kill her.” She looked at me and started walking off in search of Hazel. She stopped and turned her head towards me, “Whether you like it or not, I’m tasting Hazel’s blood…” I sighed and ran up to where Flame was standing.

            “Hazel isn’t it wonderful to see you again after so many weeks.” I greeted as we entered the shop. Hazel turned around and stuck up a ring in my face. “Look familiar?” I peered at the small object Hazel on her fingers. “That’s my ring! I’ve been looking for that for ages!” Hazel snickered, “It’s mine now, Lillypoo! I’ve had this on me for the years you’ve been missing it.” I scoffed as she tossed it in her pocket and pulled out a poke ball. “And this here is your first poke ball that you thought you lost on our trip to Greencove.” I yanked it from her, “You bitch! Why do you have to steal every treasured thing from me?” She laughed as I held up a fist. Flame held my arm and looked at me and then at Hazel. Rage overcame me and I nodded yes. “Oh, and Hazel, it was nice knowing you. Goodbye, forever!” She looked puzzled as I took a step back and Flame one forward. Flame slowly approached her, claws ready to grab her soft flesh and to taste her sweet blood. “Lilla! Contr0l your Charizard!” She yelled with fear. “I did, she’s going to kill you now, isn’t that right, Flame?” Flame nodded and began to sink her teeth into Hazel’s throat. For once, I enjoyed her scream for help as Flame ripped her skin from her body. I even laughed.

            Five years of this has been going on. Flame and I teamed up killing… getting revenge… destroying our enemies. I didn’t have to become the champion at the Elite 4 anymore, I was the champion of killing! Some say I might be mad for wanting to do this, but I’m just as bloodthirsty as Flame; I’ve gone wild, there was something that triggered my inner evil, maybe it was the scream of Hazel or the feel of her sweet crimson blood running down my throat and over my body. There came a day when someone finally caught me and brought me to the psychiatric ward for “therapy” and “recovery”.

            After that my mind was all set and clear from all the evilness. I actually forgot about Flame until she flew up to me waiting to kill our next victim. I looked at her and shook my head for the first time. “Flame, no more. No more, hear me? We aren’t going to kill anymore!” She gave a deep growl. I looked into her eyes; they were a deep red with nothing but pure hatred, revenge, and anger. I gasped at the sight of what I had seen. She looked paler, her teeth were stained with blood, and the flame on the tip of her tale was bigger than normal. “Why have you betrayed me foolish girl? You promised! You said forever and never. That is my poke ball, mine, I live in it, its proof that your mine!” Her demonic voice rang out. I ran to the PokeCenter and went to ask if they could put Flame down. They sadly looked at me and took the ball. Flame no longer belonged to me, or in her words, I no longer belonged to her.

            Weeks later I started to see shadows of a Charizard following me. I said “Impossible, she’s dead.” Even though my new friend told me on cannot kill a demon. I shrugged it off and headed towards home. The wooden floor where Mom had been killed was stained with blood, and the spot where her body was remained misty. I always shivered every time I passed by, and I always said, “Thank you Mom for giving me life. I’m so sorry that it had to end like this, I really need you…” Then I’d walk upstairs to my room and sleep. But tonight was different, the mist was gone. I walked upstairs wearily hoping to find the source of the problem, hoping nobody called Ghostbusters. I walked into my dark room and lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling. I wasn’t alone; there was heavy breathing and a very low, deep growl next to me. “Lilla, we meet again. You had tried to kill me, but you know you never could. I know you never got me out of your mind. I sat up and looked around to see if I could spot who I knew was Flame. “I don’t know if you’ll be able to stomach seeing me.” She laughed. I hurried and clicked on the lights, she was right. One of her eyes were hanging down to her mouth which was bloodied. Her fur was all gray and the flame on the tip of her tail was gone. She had a huge gash on her stomach, and if you look close enough, you could see her guts slowly coming out.

“They torture you, Lilla. They don’t put us down humanely.” I was assuming “they” meant the PokeCenter staff. “They cut you,  they rip out your eyes, they even did this…” She turned around and her wings were removed, all was left was little stubs. “I ran away as fast as I could. I had to get my revenge on you somehow.” I backed up running into the wall. Her demonic laugh scared me enough to scream, which only made her laugh more. “No one will hear you, I killed everyone in town. Don’t worry, this will only hurt……… A LOT!” She screeched as she plunged forward and grabbed my ankles. My head hit the floor, but that pain wasn’t what I was concentrated on, she then ripped off one of my legs. Blood poured out around me… my eyes were fuzzy and things were going black. She lunged forward towards my neck and the stinging pain of teeth hit me like a bus. She ripped away………………

“News Report: Two days ago we found a young 15 year old girl by the name of Lilla Gotta was found dead in her room. She appeared to be butchered by a large Pokémon. Her neck was ripped out and her legs were torn off. Her stomach was completely missing and her heart was laying next to what appeared to of been her eyes. What seems a little peculiar is that her heart was split in two. We’re still doing research and we hope to find answers soon.” He continued on with other news until he heard a bump on the door. “Hey! This is a live newscast!” He got up to open the door, a grayish Charizard with no flame at the tip of its tail walked in. “DIE! HUMANS BETRAY! ALL MUST PAY!” It’s cry was low and distorted sounding. The camera crew rushed in to rid of the Charizard, but it just killed each one of them. The set was a blood bath and whoever was watching the program at that time was very shocked at what they witnessed. The Charizard walked up to one of the cameras and said in a voice so frightening and threatening, it made the little kids cry and the adults more frightened and shocked than they already were. “YOU BETTER WATCH OUT! I AM COMING FOR YOU! YOU ALL WILL DIE AND SUFFER THE WAY I HAD TO FOR MY LOVED ONE! DIE!” The Charizard staggered out of the room.The cameras in the studio stayed on everyday and night never turning off until police mustered up the courage to finally enter the building.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Death

It was one of those normal Friday evenings. My dad and I were at the mall, strolling around and gazing at the vast collection of stores. I was gleefully munching on a frosted cookie I had convinced him to buy for me by saying how much I loved him and I would only ask this one time. I still don’t see how he hadn’t already caught onto my not-so-hidden pattern.

After several minutes of aimless wandering, I finally found a store that caught my attention. GameStop. I squealed as much as when a little child gets a new puppy. Before even asking for permission, I raced into the store. My father regretfully followed me in.

I ran to and fro, carefully examining every game up for sale. Most of them I either already had, or they seemed tasteless and dull. I groaned, and was just about to give up hope when my eye caught a game I hadn’t noticed before. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky. My spirits soared as I greedily snatched the game from the shelf and sprinted back towards my dad.

A flicker of horror passed over his face when he looked at the price tag as I presented the game to him. At first he said he wouldn’t buy it for me, but I gave him the puppy eyes and lied to him that I had wanted this game for a very long time. Eventually he gave in, just as I knew he would.

I grinned wildly as my dad bought the game. I giggled like a child whose had way to much sugar as I clutched my new Nintendo DS game. I skipped and hopped all the way to the car, then suddenly cursed under my breath when I realized my DS was at home. A little crestfallen, but not enough to completely dampen my mood, I opened the game case and read the instruction manual.

By the time we pulled into the driveway I had every word of the manual engraved into my skull. I flung the car door open, narrowly missing impact with my dad’s head, and dashed into my room. I knocked over countless items as I searched for my beloved DS. Once I found it nestled under a pile of papers and unread magazines, I gingerly held it in my hands as if it were some holy item given to me to save the world.

After a split moment I hastily popped my new game into the DS without second thought. I leaped onto my bed and impatiently waited for the game to load. I irritatedly sighed as the seconds ticked by with only a black screen on my DS. I immaturely shook my DS, willing it to work faster.

My breath caught in my throat as the screen suddenly burst into life. The intro had started playing. I gawked at the detail and pixilated beauty that was this masterpiece. Once the beginning animation was over, I still took a moment to gaze at the artwork of the title screen. I was very easily impressed.

Once I had finally finished savoring over every small detail, I selected “New Game”, which was the only option available. It took me straight to the personality quiz, which I had been expecting. It asked for my gender, and I chose female, since biologically I was a girl. Then the questions rolled in.

I wanted to be a Vulpix. I needed to be a Vulpix. I was a total and absolute Vulpix obsessed freak just like many other Pokemon fan girls. I had been longing for a long time to finally have a Pokemon game where I could play as a Vulpix, or more so I had been longing for said goal since I had read that you could be a Vulpix in the instruction manual, but that was still a long time for me. Regardless the motive or reasoning behind it, I was going to be a Vulpix, and I wouldn’t accept any other.

I answered the questions honestly, or believed I had answered them honestly anyways. The questions seemed never ending. One came in after another, slowly whittling away at my already near run out patience. Just as I thought I couldn’t take it anymore, the survey was over. I held my breath, waiting to see what I turned out to be. I hoped and prayed with all of my heart I would be a Vulpix, even though I obviously was one, but every possible bit of help counts. The results came in…

I was a Squirtle.

“Yuck!! A Squirtle?!” Without the slightest bit of hesitation, I reset my DS. I quickly skipped through the intro and title screen, not stopping to admire the art. I instead went straight back to the personality quiz. I answered honestly again, believing that there was some sort of mistake the first time. I just had to be a Vulpix, there was no way I could be anything else. The results came in once more…

I was still a Squirtle.

“There has to be some malfunction in this game or something…” I spoke as though I knew everything, despite how I had only recently learned what the word malfunction even meant. I reset my DS once more, and skipped straight to the personality quiz. I’ll just answer everything randomly this time. Let’s see if I get a Squirtle then… I grinned like a maniac, thinking this plan was fool proof. I didn’t even care about getting a Vulpix any more, I just wanted something different. Getting an Eevee or something would have been nice. I answered randomly, without hardly even looking at the questions, and the results came in for the third time…

Squirtle.

“Forget this!!” I shut off my DS and pouted. It wasn’t fair, I finally had a dream game where I could play as my dream Pokemon, but no, “I have to be that ugly, horrible, stupid turtle.” I still wasn’t going to give up though. I was going to be a Vulpix no matter what. I sat for a moment, thinking about my possible options. That was when it hit me.

“Oh yeah! God, I’m such an idiot.” I exclaimed to myself. I raced into the computer room, knocking over more items as I did so. Thankfully the computer was already turned on, I didn’t have enough patience to sit through and start it up. I opened the internet, went to the address bar, and typed in humanity’s best virtual friend, “Google.com”.

“Alright, how to get Vulpix in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky…” I said aloud to no one in particular. “Enter!” I shouted once I had finally finished typing. I quickly remembered to press the enter key as I did so. I clicked on the first search result. Answer the questions with these answers and you’ll get Vulpix as your starter. I sighed in relief as I read the answer to my problems.

I ran back to my room to retrieve my DS, but I was stopped short, “Honey, me and your father are going back to town because someone forgot to get something.” My mom called to me from the kitchen. “I said I was sorry-” I heard my dad start to protest but he was cut short, “Will you be alright by yourself for an hour or two?” My mom asked to me. “Yeah sure I’ll be fine.” I called back and went into my room, DS the only thing on my mind.

“Alright, we’ll see you in a little while.” I heard the door shut as they left, but I didn’t pay any attention. At that moment an asteroid could have collided with Earth and I wouldn’t have noticed. I was too focused on answering the questions accordingly to what the internet said and finally getting my Vulpix.

Once I was finished answering the survey, my heart stopped beating for a moment. I waited to see what would happen. I waited. And waited. And waited. Moments turned into seconds, and even into a solid minute. I was starting to get worried that I may have actually somehow broken the game.

I nearly leaped out of my skin when static suddenly burst onto the screen. But as soon as it was there, it was gone. Replacing it was the marvelous icon of a Vulpix. “Yes, yes!!” I shouted victoriously into the air. The call summoned my little Dachshund into the room, barking her heart out. “Oh, Lilly, this is so awesome isn’t it?” She yipped in responce, which I took as a yes.

As I walked back to my bed room, the game led me to the next screen where I got to choose my partner. I already knew exactley which one I was going to choose. I selected a male Shinx as I leaped back onto my bed with Lilly jumping up alongside. I named him Shadow, in honor of my beloved Shadow the Luxray on my Pokemon Diamond.

The screen went to black. I squealed thinking of what this game was going to be like. I had no idea what was going to happen. I had gone distincly out of my way to avoid spoilers on the plot and story line. For once I wanted to be surprised and not have any clue what was going to occur while I played.

And I sure as hell was.

The screen stayed black for a few minutes. Then the static came back. “Stupid old DS, I’m going to have to get my dad to get me a new one soon…” After only a few seconds, the static was gone and the game started up. I squealed as the scene started to load.

It was sunset, and my Vulpix was lying on a beach. I didn’t think much of it, but my breath suddenly caught in my throat. She was lying in a small pool of blood that was gradually growing larger. When I looked a little closer it looked like she had plenty of bruises and scratches.

I didn’t know how to react for a moment. I just kept staring at the screen in shock. I suddenly blurted out, “Yes! Pokemon is going up to the next level!” Ignoring the obvious red flags, I immediately got excited and hyped up. I couldn’t wait to see what the rest of the game was going to be like.

A minute passed. I had thought the game was in a cut scene, but apparently it wasn’t. I pressed the A button to see if it would trigger anything. Nothing happened. I mashed on more buttons but it still remained the same. I angrily sighed, my patience about to snap.

Suddenly a Shinx started to slowly creep onto the screen, which I assumed was Shadow. Something was very strange about his sprite though. Instead of blue and black, his colors were white and dark grey. “Whoa… our partners get to be a special color!” Blindly accepting that fact, I waited to see what would happen.

A text box appeared for Shadow, “I swear I heard it around here somewhere… No, no, it was just nothing…” He then noticed my Vulpix and appeared shocked, then ran over towards her. It stayed that way for a few moments. Well, what is Shadow going to do..? I pondered to myself.

Suddenly electricity started to spark from Shadow. Another text box appeared for him, “Kill her and make us right, kill her and make us right, kill her and make us right…” He kept repeating the same line over and over to himself as the electrcity grew brighter. Death and blood in a Pokemon game..? I thought to myself, …Alright!

Suddenly Shadow stopped charging his attack, and shook his head. A text box appeared once more, “No, I can’t kill her… There has to be another way… Kill her and this will all be over with… But I can’t… Kill her…” He shook his head once more, and started to drag my Vulpix off screen, leaving a trail of blood behind, as it faded to black.

Once the screen had loaded again, much faster than it had been doing, my Vulpix was alone in a dark cave. A camp fire was in front of her, the only thing lighting the desolate room. She slowly stood up and stretched, but then winced in pain and fell back to the floor, shivering.

Shadow walked into the room and walked over towards my Vulpix. He became shocked once he realized she was awake. A text box appeared for him, “Lie down, don’t move, don’t speak, don’t make any sound, breathe as quietly as possible, be absolutely still, or you and me will both regret it. I said stop moving.” My Vulpix immediately stopped shivering. Well, Shadow is sure mean. I thought. “I-I’m sorry… Just please don’t move… Please… Make us right…” He shook his head. “…Tell me your name. Quietly whisper your name to me. Now. Please be someone else, be someone else, be someone else…”

A screen came up where I could type in my name. “Finally…” I muttered to myself. I typed in the name Myra. I felt proud of myself for thinking of that name all by myself, even though I had probably heard it from somewhere else before. But I didn’t really care. I selected enter and the screen faded to black once more. Static suddenly burst back onto the screen. It stayed a little longer than it had before. …Yep, defiantley getting a new DS. It finally went away, and opened back to the cave.

Myra tilted her head towards Shadow and slowly whispered her name to him. He leaped backwards, shocked, “Myr-” He quickly stopped and regained control of himself, and shook his head. “I shouldn’t have gotten my hopes up…” It looked like the icon next to his text box had a tear on it. He stood there and just stared at Myra for a few moments.

She suddenly opened her mouth as if about to speak, but Shadow slammed his paw down on her muzzle. “I told you don’t talk.” Myra started shivering, as if she was going to cry. “Stop moving, please, she’ll hear you… Stop!” He shot a bolt of electricity at Myra, barely missing her. She became as still as a stone.

He watched her for a minute, as if to see if she would move again, and then sat down. His sprite seemed on the verge of crying, “Listen to me… If you want to live, then listen… Make us right…” He suddenly stood up, “She heard.” His icon looked worried, then changed to slight relief, “She doesn’t know you’re here, but she’s suspicious… Stay here. I must talk to her.” He walked away, but just as he was about to disapear off screen, he turned around, “You better not move while I’m gone.” He then exited the cave, which left my character all alone.

I was afraid to press any buttons, afraid that I might accidentally make Myra move. I was scared that something really bad might happen. Shadow had seemed pretty serious about her not doing anything. I got really bored after a few minutes when nothing happened. I assumed that I was supposed to do something, but I didn’t know what I could do without moving. I then figured that I had to press the start button, since it was the only thing I could do without moving.

I selected the items option. I wanted to see if my Vulpix got to start out with anything. She had one item. Chains. I selected the info on them, “You found these chains wrapped tightly around your neck. You don’t remember how you got them but you can’t take them off.” It couldn’t do anything, so I exited out of it. I looked at all of the other start menu options but none of them held anything of interest.

Once I exited out of the menu and was back in the cave, Myra closed her eyes and looked as if she was asleep. The screen slowly faded to black. I waited for something to happen, but nothing did. A text box suddenly appeared with no icon next to it. “???: Greetings, love.” Confused, I pressed the A button, “???: H-Hey… Y-you seem to be in a g-good mood…” “???: Quite. And you know very well why.” “???: ..!! I do?!” I assumed that this was a conversation between two people, although I had no idea what they were talking about at all.

”???: Don’t be daft, you know very well why.
???: N-No I don’t-
???: She’s here! Can’t you sense her presence..?
???: O-Oh yeah! T-That… Yes, I’ve sensed her-
???: You have been active lately.
???: Uhh… Yeah…
???: I’m waiting love.
???: Uhm… I-I thought I had found her, bu-
???: She got away from you, didn’t she?
???: ..?! Oh, uhm, yeah, I tried to chase her but she got away…
???: It’s alright, at least we know she’s around here somewhere.
???: Yeah, I’ll get her next time…
???: …Something troubles you.
???: What..? Why do you think that..?
???: Love, it’s alright that she got away, I’m honestly not mad. Just be sure to kill her soon. Slaughter her. Show that rat no mercy for stealing our life.
???: I-I will… I will.
???: This is just marvelous. We’ll finally be able to live normally, like we were supposed to be…
???: Y-Yeah…
???: …She’s here.
???: Huh? Yeah, we know she’s here-
???: She’s in the Dungeon.
???: What?! …S-She is… Th-that ignorant little-
???: L-Love…
???: What is it?
???: D-Don’t let her find me… K-Kill her… Please…
???: I will-
???: Kill her and make us right… Please…
???: …I will. I promise.
???: Thank you… love…
???: …Love…
???: What?
???: Nothing, just thinking… I must go now…
???: Take care, don’t get yourself murdered…
???: I won’t… love… love…”

The last text box disapeared, and the screen faded to Myra, except she was standing in the middle of a dungeon. She was standing up, so I walked a step forward, then backwards. Nothing happened. “Alright, finally! I get to actually move!!” Lilly yipped beside me at my sudden remark. I brushed her fur with my hand, calming her down, “It’s alright, I’m getting to move! It’s a miracle, isn’t it?” She barked once more and laid her head down, tired.

I turned my attention back to the game, and started walking around. After a few moments, I started noticing the odd atmosphere about the dungeon. First off, there was no music. Second, the dungeon walls and floor were chalk white with a faint pink tint. I walked around for a while and finally found the stairs.

When I got to the next floor, the pink tint had become slightly darker. After taking a couple of steps, I saw a blood stain on the floor, next to a skull. “Yes!” I whispered to myself, happy that the game was going to continue to have a dark theme to it. After coming across a few more skulls and blood stains I found the stairs.

I went to the next floor. The pink hue had become slightly darker again. When I walked around I found even more skulls and blood stains than before. But what slightly shocked me was that in one corner of a room I found a metal table, with chains and handcuffs on it. In another room was more torture equipment. I was getting a bit uneasy, thinking this may be a bit too much for a Pokemon game. Despite that, I continued onward to the next floor.

On this floor, the now standard pink hue was starting to turn into a pinkish grey. More blood stains, skulls, and torture equipment. This time though, a white and dark grey Rattata appeared after I had taken only a few steps. It looked as if it was limping. It looked shocked once it saw my Vulpix, and instantly turned savage. It slowly started walked towards her. Seeing as it was obviously hurt, and just the fact that it was a Rattata, I thought I could take it out in one hit. That turned out to be a major miscalculation. It took thirteen turns to knock it out, and it had dealed a fair amount of damage on Myra before it fainted.

Thankfully, there weren’t many Pokemon to fight throughout the whole dungeon. As I progressed onwards though, the environment slowly became more gruesome. I soon found a table that had some sort of internal organ on top of it, with a knife stabbed into it. I stupidly stared at it for several moments, not believing what I saw. “Whoa… I think they went a little too far with all this…” I shivered as I spoke to myself. A little blood and a couple of skulls were neat, but I thought this was starting to be too much for a kid’s game.

That was when I noticed something. I could now hear a heart beat in the background music. It was faint, but definitly there. There was also a long pause in between each pulse. I didn’t think much of it, too focused on the visuals of the game, and pushed it to the back of my thoughts.

I slowly walked through the rest of the floors, each more painful to look at than the last. The walls were now a complete sickly gray pink. The heart beat would get louder and quicker with each floor I went to. Pokemon corpses started littering the floors, skulls and skeletons with bits of flesh still clinging to them were abundant, torture equipment were plentiful, and blood was practically everywhere. A few more grey and white Pokemon appeared to challenge me, each more violent than the last.

Just as I thought I was about to lose my last strand of sanity, I made it to the final floor at last. Static burst onto the screen before it had finished loading though. Lilly yelped beside me at the sudden noise. I patted her head and stroked her fur, calming her down. This time the static lasted for a solid minute before it went away. I was starting to get suspicious, thinking that the static was more than just my DS going dead.

The floor loaded. The walls and floors were crimson red, as if drenched in blood. The heart beat had stopped, so there was no music at all. Myra slowly walked forward, without me even controlling her. A text box suddenly popped up with no icon, “???: L-Love, is t-that you..?” Myra walked a few more steps forward, then leaped backwards in shock as she saw something off screen. She then slowly crept forward, each step taking a few seconds.

What I saw made my breath catch in my throat. A severely beaten up and bloodied Squirtle was chained to the wall. Parts of its skin were ripped off, exposing muscle tissue. Its eyes were ripped out, only black eye sockets remaining. “???: S-Speak to me… P-Please, love, s-say something…”

Myra backed up a few steps, then turned around and ran. She didn’t make it far though, and crashed into Shadow. The two stared at each other for a few moments, when a text box for Shadow appeared, “Shadow: …M-Myra…” There was a pause. “You idiot!!” His icon looked furious, as if he was about to leap out and tear Myra to shreds. “???: W-What?! S-She’s here..?! K-Kill her! Kill her now!!”

Shadow started charging up an electric attack. Myra shivered, and backed up a step. The light from the electricity slowly grew larger and brighter, so much that it got painful to look at. Shadow suddenly stopped charging his attack. A text box appeared, “???: …L-Love…?! What are you doing..?! Kill her this instant!! Before she destroys us!!”

“Shadow: …I can’t.” Shadow’s icon looked sad and defeated.
“Shadow: I can’t kill her.
???: W-Why not?! Why can’t you kill her?! L-Love, snap out of it, please!! Slaughter her, give us our life back, make us right-
Shadow: No.
???: …No?
Shadow: We’ll never be right.
???: What are you talking about?! Just kill her, this will all be over, things will be perfectly normal-
Shadow: I don’t love you.
???: …What-
Shadow: I-I hate you!! Y-You sadistic monster!! W-We’ll never be right… A-And… I love Myra…”

There was a long pause, the longest so far. I gawked at the screen, uncertain of what to expect next. Several minutes passed. I thought that maybe I was supposed to move, so I tried pressing a button, but nothing happened. It was still in the cut scene.

Static suddenly burst onto the screen once more. Except this time it would flicker for a brief moment then go back to the dungeon. “Shadow: N-No!! Kill her before she” I could hardly read Shadow’s dialougue through all the static, and I couldn’t read the last part of his sentence. The screen suddenly cut to black.

There was another small pause. A loud cracking noise suddenly burst out from the speakers that sounded like glass breaking. I nearly leaped out of my skin, caught off guard. Lilly started throwing a barking fit at the sudden commotion. I petted and stroked her fur, trying to calm her down again. “It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright…” I was mainly trying to calm myself down. This was one of the most emotionally, nerve wracking games I had definitly ever played.

I turned back to the screen, which was still black. Moments turned into seconds, which turned into minutes. Static started to slowly fade in. Text would pop up at random places, but it was too difficult to read. I prepared myself for anything that could possibly happen. With everything I had just recently seen, I believed that nothing could shock me anymore. Despite how much I braced myself, I let out a slight scream of sheer terror at what I saw next.

That Squirtle appeared in the middle of the screen admist all the static. It looked different though. Its flesh was completely torn away at parts, exposing internal organs and bone. Blood poured out of the numerous gashes all along its body. The thing’s shell was cracked open, a vile, bubbling, green goo oozing out. It now had small, red eyes, with eye sockets that were much too large. The top of its head was cracked open, exposing its still pulsing brain, with even more blood gushing out of that. It had razor sharp teeth, its grin stretching off the edges of its face.

But the worst was the tail. The tail itself was very long and torn just like the rest of its body. But the end of the tail curled around a sharp, blood stained dagger. The knife was the main reason I screamed, since I had a large fear of knifes, along with the fact that the thing was a zombie, which isn’t my cup of tea either. After a couple of moments it disapeared from the screen, as did the static, leaving a black screen behind.

Lilly leaped on top of me, yapping in my face while showering me in licks, knowing that something was wrong. I pushed her off of me and started heavily breathing, trying to recover from what had just happened. I sighed deeply, and glanced at my Dachshund. She was staring at me with that innocent, adorable face only a puppy could pull off. I gave her a pat on the head, and she licked my hand in response. Feeling a bit better, I returned to my game.

Instead of seeing a black screen, Myra was standing inside of a dark, grey cave with dead Pokemon corpses littered all on the ground. Everything was in shades of black, grey, and white, except for the blood stains and Myra. I was really starting to get sick of all this. That’s when my brain clicked into motion, “I don’t have to deal with this crap!!” I pressed the power button, thinking all of my problems were solved. But they were far from over. The game wouldn’t turn off.

”???: I’m not finished with you yet.” The text box appeared. I was now utterly freaked out, and had no idea how to react. I could’ve just thrown the DS away, but something urged me to keep playing. I made Myra take one step forward, and one of the supposedly dead Pokemon started shaking, and then rose. It looked like a zombie Marill, and took a step towards Myra. Another corpse rose that was a Poochyena. Soon they were all rising and swarming around my poor little Vulpix.

”???: That should keep you busy for a while.” It sure did. They went out in one hit, but with so many of them they were difficult to keep at bay. After countless minutes, the last zombie Pokemon fell, just as Myra’s HP has at near zero. I ran Myra out of that floor quickly before they could rise again. Instead of going to the next floor, the screen just went to black, and text boxes appeared,

“Shadow: W-Why are you doing this?!
???: I could ask you the same thing… love.
Shadow: What did I do?! Myra did nothing to deserve this-
???: She stole my life, my destiny, she replaced me, then stole you from me… She deserves every last bit of this torture.
Shadow: …M-Maybe, our desinties have changed-
???: No. They didn’t change. They were corrupted. I was going to be the hero, you my partner, but then she came and massacred it all…
Shadow: Maybe she was supposed to be the hero after all, and you-
???: I was supposed to be the hero!! I was supposed to go on adventures with you!! But then she stole it all… But I wasn’t going to give up that easily… You weren’t supposed to give up that easily…
Shadow: …I-
???: You were supposed to kill her and set everything back on course. Everything would have been peaceful and normal… We would have been right-
Shadow: We would never be right! I hate you, but I love Myra-
???: You love something that doesn’t even exist!! She isn’t supposed to be here, she isn’t supposed to be real, she isn’t real-
Shadow: I-
???: S-She’s everything I’m not… Everything I wanted to be… A collection of unrealistic dreams that could never come true and never will be…
Shadow: …
???: But you couldn’t accept me for who I was. I wasn’t good enough for you. I was the real one, the one in need who was crying out to you for help… But you succumbed to your greed and left me for her…
“Shadow: …
???: Now I’ve turned into this… thing. I’m my own nightmare. I didn’t want to be this. You turned me into this horrid creature, and now nothing can be undone…
Shadow: …
???: Well, what do you have to say for yourself..?
Shadow: …I’m sorry.
???: Sorry, huh? Well-
Shadow: But I still love Myra.
???: …
Shadow: …I-
???: I can’t believe you. You greedy, self centered demon.”
Shadow: I’m not the demon here-
???: Yes you are. You can’t look past my flaws and just accept who I truly am, so you desert me for someone who I’m not.
Shadow: I-
???: I’ve had enough of this. I’m done trying to reason with you. She’s corrupted your thoughts beyond repair.
“Shadow: Wh-What?!-
???: If I have to take you back by force, then I will. I will slit her throat and tear her apart limb by limb. Once you see she’s truly nothing, then you’ll come back to me, and we’ll be right…
Shadow: No, don’t you dare-
???: We’ll be right… We’ll be right… It will all be right…
Shadow: No!-“

There was static for a few seconds, then it dissapeared. Once it had left, instead of the screen being black like I was expecting, it actually went straight to Myra standing on what appeared to be a large, solid white platform, with a black background. There was no audio at all.

I walked a few steps, but nothing happened. I pressed every button and looked through every option available but nothing would occur. Several minutes passed, and still nothing. I couldn’t think of anything I could do, so I just waited even more. Five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes… Nothing would happen.

I sighed and put my DS down, still leaving it open. I sat up, causing Lilly to grunt in annoyance next to me at disrupting her slumber. I half-heartedly giggled, and patted her head. She licked my hand and laid her head back down, trying to get back to sleep. I sat on the edge of the bed for a few minutes, trying to decide what to do.

Just as I was about to get up and leave, a sudden beeping noise from my DS caused me to stop short. I picked up my DS to see if anything had changed, but Myra was still at the same place. A loud bleep emitted from the speakers again though. I walked Myra a few steps to see if that would trigger anything, but still nothing else would happen. The bleep sounded for the third time.

I looked at the screen and realized that Shadow was standing in front of Myra. I hadn’t noticed him before, as he had blended in with everything else. A text box popped up with Shadow’s icon looking defeated, “Shadow: …It’s no use.” Electricity started to spark from his paws. Myra backed up a step. “Shadow: Please stay still…” The electricity grew even larger, covering up almost half of the screen. My hair started to spike up, like when you’re about to be hit by a lightning bolt. “Shadow: This should be enough to kill both of u-“

The electricity suddenly went away. Shadow shivered, then collapsed to the ground. Blood started to pool around him. Myra looked shocked, then ran to his side, allowing me to get a better view of what had happened to him. I gasped at what I saw. He had been sliced in half. The scene stayed the same for a few moments, until Shadow raised his head and spoke, “Shadow: H-Ha… L-Looks like I… failed…” He fell back to the ground once more, and didn’t move again.

”???: Such a waste, isn’t it?” The text box appeared. Myra looked shocked and jumped up, then started looking around. “???: If only he could have looked past his greed, then none of this would have happened, and you could have peacefully died… But what’s done is done I suppose.” There was a pause. “???: …Ready to join him?” Myra’s sprite shivered.

There was a flash on the screen, then another, and another. Each time Myra was forced backwards, until she collapsed onto the ground. There appeared to be cuts on her, with crimson blood gushing from her wounds. She was heavily breathing. She struggled, and started rising. Just as she had stood back up, there was another flash. When the brightness had cleared away, I saw a knife had been embedded in her forehead. She staggered, then fell over on her side, unmoving. The text box appeared again, “???: You should have just accepted who you are.” Then disappeared.

Several minutes passed, and nothing happened. Eventually the light on my DS went red. A few more minutes came and went, with still nothing. The screen suddenly cut to black. Large white text appeared, “You aren’t dead yet. You never will be.” A pause. I waited. “Have pleasant dreams.” My DS then turned off, out of energy.

Relief unlike ever before washed over me once my DS died. I sighed and laid back on my bed, Lilly grunting in annoyance once more. I laughed and ruffled her fur, causing her to moan agitatedly. I gave her a kiss on the forehead, then pulled my blanket over me. I was extremely tired, and desperately needed a nap. I closed my eyes, and soon fell into a deep slumber.

***

I woke up in the middle of the night, screeching at the top of my lungs. After a solid minute of screaming, I started to get a hold of myself. I was breathing heavily, and shaking violently. Sweat was pouring off my fore head, and I felt a deep fear I had never experienced before. I swallowed, gasped for air, and started to calm down.

I sat on my bed for a few minutes, trying to collect myself. Eventually my breathing went back to normal, and I stopped sweating. A little while longer and I was done shivering. But the fear never went away. I tried to think about what nightmare I just had, but once I thought about it I couldn’t remember it. Whatever it was must have been very horrid to cause me to wake up screaming. I decided it would be best to not remember what had happened.

I waited a while longer, hoping the unreasonable horror would leave. But no matter how much I told myself everyone was alright and that it was just a bad dream, a feeling that something wasn’t right would never stop pestering me. I sighed and shook my head, then laid back down. I closed my eyes and awaited for the dream world to come rushing back to me, and before I would know it I would be waking up to the smell of breakfast, sunlight would be pouring in my window, and everything would be alright.

But that didn’t happen. I laid there for a couple of minutes. Half an hour. An hour. No matter how long I laid there I couldn’t get back to sleep. If anything I was becoming more awake, and the sense of fear growing larger. I agitatedly sighed and sat up. I started to get off the bed, but that nagging horror made me stay. Something told me that I didn’t want to go outside my room.

I slapped myself and stood up. I stretched, jumped up and down, trying to get myself active. No matter what I did though, I still felt anxious. “This is just stupid… Everything is alright…” I told myself out loud to try and calm myself down, but then wished I hadn’t. It felt like someone might hear me if I spoke out loud. I shook my head, thinking this was all just nothing, and walked out of my room.

I headed for the kitchen, not really sure of what to do. I realized something was odd as I walked through the living room though. Why didn’t my parents wake up when I screamed..? They should be home by now… And where’s Lilly..? None of my family was anywhere to be seen, and everything seemed darker than normal.

When I actually made it to the kitchen, I was feeling very light headed. My steps were uneven, and I felt like I was about to collapse onto the ground. I sat down in a chair at the table, my breathing irregular. I was getting dizzy, and my vision was blurry. I shook my head to try and clear it away, but it wouldn’t.

Drip, drop.

My thoughts instantly cleared and I stood straight up on my feet. Still a bit  dizzy, I staggered over to where the sound was coming from. After a minute of searching, I found myself standing in front of the sink. Everything was fuzzy, and I couldn’t focus on anything. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and when I was sure I had control over myself again, I opened my eyes. I screamed.

Lilly was hanging over the edge of the sink, her throat slit open. Blood was dripping from her neck onto the floor. Her side had been cut open, with muscle tissue and bones having been torn out. Her arms and legs were ripped off and were put together as an X with her heart on top of it. The whole sink was a bloody mess.

My screeching was cut short as something pierced into my back. I stood there, frozen. Then I slowly fell to my knees as the dagger that had been stabbed into me was slowly slipped out. I clutched my fresh wound, blood starting to ooze out and into my hands. Before I could react any further, I was stabbed again, and again.

Before I knew it I was on the floor, crying and pleading for whoever the attacker was to stop. The stabbing actually did halt for a moment. Thinking I was saved, I slowly started to sit back up. But before I could recover, I felt a piercing pain in my head. I feel over on my side, and slowly started to lose consciousness. Before the darkness completely swept over me, I could faintly hear the words in my head, “You should have just accepted who you are.”

***

I saw a bright, white light. I reached out for it, calling for it. It grew brighter, and brighter, then slowly started to fade away. Tears started streaming down my face, and I screamed for it, flailing, trying to run towards it. But it kept getting farther and farther, and soon darkness swallowed it whole. In vain, I reached my arm out, hoping it would come back. But it didn’t.

***

I woke up in the middle of the night, screeching at the top of my lungs. My thoughts were scattered, and I couldn’t think straight. A wild sense of fear was spread all throughout me, and I was breathing heavily and sweating. After a couple of minutes, I started to calm down. I swallowed, then tried to focus on what was going on.

I assumed that I had just had a nightmare. I tried to remember what it was but nothing would come back to me. It must have been really horrid to have caused me to wake up screaming, so I decided it was best to not remember it. I eventually stopped sweating, and my breathing went back to normal. A few more minutes and I stopped shivering too.

But that awful sense of horror wouldn’t leave.

Legends-Part One

    “B-but…I don’t wish to look back,” a young boy stated, his black hair rippling in the wind. “Please don’t make me, Professor, sir…Just let me pick a Poke’mon and go. I want to leave this god-forbidden place.” He looked around Pallet, staring at the calamity that had befallen all of Poke’mon, brick houses in ruin, children huddled in thick blankets, some without blankets clutching their hair, trying to make a tiny warm impulse from their hair to their numb fingers.
    “And what can you do about it all, Moonsbayne?” Professor Oak stated crossly.
    “Find the Legends.”
    “You seriously believe that? There is no Legends. There is no Arceus. And if there is, he is as strong as a Pidgey.” He scoffed.
    “The Legends control everything. If I can find them, and persuade them to try to resolve things, everything will be alright.”
    “And what if they ask you to fight?”
    “Then I shall die trying. Reshiram is in peril, you know. Word on the wind has it she fell in love with a human. Giratina became enraged, and created an order, the order of Night. And caused all of this. The Night wishes for the world to be imbalanced. Giratina already wanted it. And this love just sealed the deal.”
    “Who told you these outlandish things?”
    “Everyone knows.”
    “Then where shall you find them?” Oak inquired, following along. Surely this boy knew he was an Atheist?
    “I don’t know.”
    “Then why try?”
    “Well, what do you believed caused this?” Moonsbayne gestured at the scene behind him with a wave of his hand.
    Oak remained silent.
    “Exactly, I am on my way.”
    “Wait. Don’t go out yet. It is too dangerous.” Oak sighed. “Take this.” He planted a Poke’ Ball in Moonsbayne’s left hand, and in the other, a crimson colored sword with an electrifying blue hilt.
    “What Poke’mon is this?” Moonsbayne inquired.
    “An Arcanine that belonged to a young trainer, long ago. He put it in his PC…but he is gone now.”
    “Gone?”
    “Don’t push me, Moonsbayne.” He stated, true sorrow in his old eyes.
    “Thank you sir.” Moonsbayne bowed. “I won’t fail.”
    “Yes you will,” Oak thought, but said nothing.
    Unleashing the Arcanine from it’s capsule with a flash of fluorescence, Moonsbayne climbed onto its back, with a small growl of protest from the canine. He grasped on to its yellow neck fur with one hand. “It’s okay,” he soothed it. “I will not hurt you. And I shall call you Brushfire. It is nice to be called by a name, isn’t it?” Turning back to Oak, Moonsbayne stated bluntly, “Goodbye.”
    Pushing Brushfire to a run, Moonsbayne ran out of Pallet, his sword brandished high.
    And that’s how the horror began…

    More coming soon…

N's Rage

A while ago, I managed to get my hands on a copy of Pokemon Black. Apparently my friend didn’t want the game for some reason and gave it to me. I asked him why he didn’t want the game anymore. All he did was nod and say, “too much… Too much trouble…” I didn’t understand what he meant by “too much trouble…”

As I returned home, I instantly jumped to play the game. As I turned it on the game, I noticed that the text was in English. Also that there was a save file already. So before deleting the game, I checked the file to see what my friend had down when he played the game. He apparently was up to the final battle with N. I checked the party and saw only a Shiny Victini in his party. It had two moves, Life Gamble and Blaze Judgment. It was level eighty five, looked very strong. I checked the bag for TM and gave it Psychic & Thunder Bolt. Strange thing was that I was forced to battle Reshiram, but I had no Poke Balls when I last checked the bag. Then as the battle went on, I couldn’t battle, swap (reason for having no other Pokemon), or run. It wouldn’t respond to the touch screen or buttons, but then I selected the bag. A Dream Ball was the only thing in the bag. So I used it and instantly caught the Reshiram. The dialog box below had this:

“RESHIRAM: If only dreams were real…”

The battle ended and N began to talk.

“N: Why do you insist on crushing everything I worked so hard on accomplishing…?
Do you hate me?
Why?”

The colors of the castle and the sprites were now inverted. A red aura appeared around the inverted N.

“N: Is victory still on your side?”

The battle began. I remembered playing my copy of Black and the stage never happen to change like this. The music was slower and a little distorted…. I continued th match, to see it was a three on three match. But I only had Victini on my side. For some reason Reshiram was on his side, Zekrom was too, and the Pokemon in the middle was a Zoroark. The sprites weren’t inverted however Reshiram was nicknamed TRUTH, Zekrom was IDEAL and Zoroark was DEATH The dragons were level 50 and Zoroark was eighty five. The same as Victini. I decided to commence with the battle. I managed to beat IDEAL with Psychic.

“IDEAL lost meaning and faded away…”

TRUTH used Cross Fire but didn’t do much. Zoroark used Focus Blast, but missed. I used Psychic on TRUTH and beat it as well.

“TRUTH has vanished from all and faded away…”

Last left was DEATH. It used Dark Pulse. Victini fainted.

“VICTORY has faded away from your grasp…”

As the battle ended. N began to talk.

“N: How does it feel…?
Losing every thing you worked to achieve and have it crushed in a matter of seconds?
You don’t like that feeling do you…
I don’t…
Then why did you haunt me everywhere you go?
Do you look to crush me?
My father did.
And now N’s gone.
You’ll be joining him now…”

The game crashed and froze with N’s room theme starting to play. It was also distorted. I think I get why my friend was too paranoid to finish it. The messages in the game make you feel a lost in faith… I wondered what the beginning of the game was like? Although now I was paranoid to play. I figured learning the beginning would let me understand this obviously hacked game.

I turned off the game. Restarted the file and played the beginning. I choose Oshawott as my starter. Lucky me it was shiny. I was a little happy to see that. The beginning battle was fine. The story was not changed. I even battled N normally. But when I reached the first gym. The leader was a inverted colored N.

“…”

The battle started. The slow distorted theme played as he brought out a Zorua level fifteen also nicknamed DEATH. I brought out Dewott that evolved during training it. I used Razor Shell and beat it. Then N said.

“N: This war is just beginning…”

When the battle ended  N was gone, the green haired leader gave me the badge and TM. That was it I left and continued with the game. When I hit the second gym. The staircase was already revealed. I went down and fought N in a room filled with darkness.

“…”

Again the battle began. DEATH was now level twenty. I used my Dewott again and beat it with the move Revenge.

“N: Vengeances… What a wonderful way to end things…”

Again he vanished. As  the game commenced, N showed up to every gym, apparently judging me. Also as I hit Castelia City, my character went to the dock where you go to get Victini. As I reached the island. The sprite continued to the basement. There, a Victini was waiting as this text appeared.

“VICTORY: Even in death I’ll be by your side. Try beating N. don’t let him win again…”

“Obtained a VICTINI!”

I automatically got the same Victini that was in the old save file. it had Blaze Judgment, but not Life Gamble. Guess it didn’t learn it yet. After getting it. I had control over my movement again. I continued to the gym battles again.

N at the third gym had a Zorua still named DEATH. It appears that it goes up by five levels as the game progresses. The message at this gym was.

“N: Victory really is a burden isn’t it…?”

I questioned why that dialog popped up, since it seemed directed towards me having that Victini. At the fourth gym. N had a Zoroark now. Also called DEATH. Upon beating it. I got this message.

“N: Hurting others is fun isn’t it? You demon.”

I found it funny he’s calling me the demon, yet, he’s hunting me down. That’s what I though till I got to the fifth gym.

There I fought N once more. Still beating him quickly.

“N: You’ll soon feel how I feel… Just you wait…”

At the sixth gym. It was a little unusual. The inverted N wasn’t there. Then a Zoroark sprite was showing. It ran to the right of the Mistralton Town. I followed it on to the next route. The sprite then lead me to the Celestial Tower.

First floor had the Lavender Tower theme from Fire Red and Leaf Green. As I went up the stair a battle commenced.

“GHOST: Welcome to the end… I’m the first forgotten… You cannot run this time…”

I knew this was bad… The town music was still playing… And if memory serves right, GHOST can’t be hit. And it was right. I was unable to run… So I have nothing else to do but fight. I tried to use Samurott, but his attacks failed.

“GHOST: You will not pass my test fool…!”

I swapped to Victory.

“GHOST: … Oh… I see…”

I was able to hit it with Blaze Judgment. I got it to red health when it said.

“GHOST: You’re persistent… Offer up…”

The bag immediately opened and went to the Poke Ball in my bag.

“GHOST snatched the Poke Ball!”

“GHOST: This… The beginning of all that is evil… Please leave… Avoid fate… Freedom died…”

The match ended with that soulful statement. I figured GHOST was giving me a warning. Probably to turn back maybe? The music stopped and I continued to the second floor. The music here was from the Bellsprout Tower in Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Again. As I got to the top I got into a battle. What I fought was a Red Gyarados.

“FORCED appeared!”

FORCED? I didn’t understand why it was named FORCED. When I took it out. The match ended. Then a random text appeared.

“FORCED was a hurt GYARADOS, forced into evolution…
As the hate in the past caused it to go in a uncontrollable rage of becoming a forced experimental being…
Poor thing…
Didn’t deserve to suffer in such a way…”

There I remembered that in Johto games, Gyarados was subjected by the actions of Team Rocket. At the third floor, the Mt. Pyre theme played. No Pokemon appeared though. Just a text at the staircase.

“Two beings brought back power in-which shouldn’t have been released.
Their awakening called fourth doom…
collision of two beings brought a savior’s light to calm the omens…
Where’s Unova’s savior in this time of an omen…?”

It was referring to Emerald I believe. But is N the omen…? I tossed that idea aside and continued fourth to the forth floor. There I heard the music from NewMoon Island. Before I hit the top, a text appeared.

“A man of Sinnoh caused a great deal of pain to get what he pleaded for.
Is N the same?
Cyrus… He wanted a world.
N… He wanted to Free others.
They both seek Pokemon of power, but is that there true intentions?
Maybe there’s more then meets the eyes… But who’s to say.”

After that line the song slows down a bit. then the other three themes are played along side it in a slow pace. The room went black as the text continued.

“You fought N many times.
But did you learn anything?
Maybe you should think about your next.
Move…
AS…
IT…
MAY…
BE…
YOUR…
…
…”

The room was normal again with it’s original music now. The text was cut off. I looked at the bottom screen that was momentarily black with a white circle in the middle. I took a step and that went back to normal. I saved the game here for the first time and turned it off. I went to check my copy of Black I bought online and it was completely different from the copy my friend gave me. I figured he gave me a hacked game so I called him up. But he wouldn’t answer me. I decided the next day I would call him once more. But for now, I continued the game. As suspected, inverted N was at the top of Celestial Tower.

“N: Ring the bell.”

I rang it.

“N: Again.”

Why? I don’t know why I have to. I rang it again and the tone was lower from last time.

“N: Again.”

I rang it up to five times then the battle commenced. Again the Zoroark DEATH came out. Level forty now. When I beat it. N said…

“N: History tends to come back and haunt you…”

He took a step closer to the character.

“N: History is great no?”

Another step.

“N: Painful. Was not your trip up painful?

I don’t know what was so painful about it… Of course it just shows the bad side of each generation of Pokemon, nothing that freaky. Granted that going through the Pokemon history was interesting. the note the kind of world this game is.

“N: Are you okay? No? Yes?”

N fades off & I get transfered to the sixth gym and get the badge. At the seventh gym, N fights me normally again. He had Zoroark at level 45. Beat it with Victini.

“N: A world for me is nothing for you”

Finally the last gym. N was there and this was the last fight. I had my Samurott beat his DEATH again.

“N: Regret is in your future…”

I guess I’ll be fighting him soon now. As I make my way through the Elite Four, the time came for the battle with N. Strangely enough when the castle appeared, N was standing with the inverted one behind him. They both made there way to the castle. I followed after. The sages weren’t there. I noticed that Gechisu was in N’s childhood room. He wouldn’t respond to me but, the real N was by his toys. I went to chat with him, but this appeared.

“N: …
My dreams…
Are crushed…
It’s all my fault…
I was bad…
Zoroark…
Why did you die on me…?
Was I bad…
Father…
Why do you hate me…?
Do you want me dead too?

He walks out the room and my character automatically follows. We end u[p in the throne room when Zekrom and Reshiram are now summoned. The inverted N then goes up to N.

“N: …”

The screen went black. A thud sound is heard.

When the screen went back up. The placement was the same as how I started the original file. Only difference was that I had a full team now. I still fought N, but this time… I won. But upon winning, the Pokemon on my team vanished. N had DEATH the Zoroark back on the field.

“N: You lost…”

The battle was over, everything had an inverted color. He then said…

“N: Curiosity killed the cat…
You took the bait.
Now listen up.
All good things.
Must come to an end.
You took my dream…
I take…
…
Hehe…
Your hope…
Throughout this game you’ve been given messages…”

The screen went black again. The theme of N’s room played slowly again as these texts came up:

“N: This war is just beginning…”

“N: Vengeances… What a wonderful way to end things…”

“N: Victory really is a burden isn’t it…?”

“N: Hurting others is fun isn’t it? You demon.”

“N: You’ll soon feel how I feel… Just you wait…”

“N: History tends to come back and haunt you…”

“N: History is great no?”

“N: Painful. Was not your trip up painful?

“N: Are you okay? No? Yes?”

“N: Regret is in your future…”

“N: …
My dreams…
Are crushed…
It’s all my fault…
I was bad…
Zoroark…
Why did you die on me…?
Was I bad…
Father…
Why do you hate me…?
Do you want me dead too?

The text ended as N said one final thing.

“N: Pass me on…”

His faced showed on the screen slowly as the theme continued to play.

I turned the game off there. I restarted to see that the file was gone.

Next day I saw my friend. I asked him where he got the game. He said he found it. I asked where. He didn’t answer. We both walked off and saw someone playing on a DS. I figured getting this game off my hands so I passed it onto another player now. Where ever that game is now, I know one thing. That I’m never gonna forget those messages…

Legends-Prolouge

          This is the first part of the Creepypasta series I am working on, enjoy!

    “Don’t…oh sweet Arceus, don’t…”
    The trainer, clothed in a cliché red getup, looked down at his feet. The voices clung at him like Beedrills to a flower, and the ice covered plants around him fueled that thought. He cringed. “Why mustn’t I?”
    “Because…Red, you are the only one that understands…in the future, they will follow the Night…You are the only one that understands me.”
    “For what, Ram? For what?” He looked off into the distance, at the blissful blizzard of hail swirling gracefully among the ice capped trees. “I am nothing. Mother forgot about me. My lips was sealed along my whole journey, and now…” He gulped. “I have nothing to live for. I want back my comrades, the only ones that understood me. But they are dead.”
    “But it doesn’t mean you have to-”
    “YES IT DOES!” He interrupted, the loud voice telling the echoes to howl like a gong. He heard her gulp, and sob a little. “I’m sorry, Ram. It is what I have to do.”
    He thought of the icy-blue eyes she possessed, the dress she always wore, the snowy white dress. It made him tingle to think of her. She wished he was with her. He wish he could wipe away her tears with the pad of his thumb. But he couldn’t. “Remember me…,” He told her once more telepathically.
    “Red…no…”
    “I love you.”
    “Red, no…DON’T!!”
    And he jumped off the mountain, the air rushing through him as he plunged to his death.
    “Red…”

Deletion and Revival

Man, I may be a creepypasta hunter, but I never expected to actually experience one!

It all started normal. I got a Mew from the event for Pokemon Heartgold, and was so happy because it was my birthday present from Nintendo. Unfortunately, one day when I took it to school, the whole file was deleted due to corruption or damage. I was so upset. I worked so hard to get HURRY the Cyndaquil to level 100 without evolving it, and I missed my Mew. In the new file, I tried to hack in a clone of the Mew, but it just wasn’t the same. I wished I could, at that moment, have my precious Mew back.

Apparently, a Jirachi heard me, because after that, when I played my game, a text box appeared. “Would you like to save them?” Yes/No. Without understanding it, I clicked yes, thinking it meant some special event programmed into the game. Once I clicked it, the screen went to a cutscene of Lavender Town. To be exact, Mr. Fuji in the House of Memories, with three graves.

“Oh my!” a text box said, with an exclaimation mark above Mr. Fuji’s head. At that moment, three pale sprites, a Raticate, a Mew, and a boy (the main character, aka Ethan), appeared and raced along, out into the world. The Mew and boy stopped and looked at me, a close up and profile picture appearing of the mew. It was paler for a reason, as its type was now Psychic/Ghost. Other than that, it was exactly like my old Mew. After checking it’s stats, it went to a Trainer Card. My old Trainer Card, with TOBI as my character, but it had a remastered Lost Silver white skined, eyeless, blood crying sprite with no cap. Back to the graves, it showed a close up. “Here lies Raticate. OT: Blue. DT: Blue” read one, which I assumed was Blue’s Raticate. On the next one read “Here lies Mew. OT: FAL2010. DT: TOBI” I cried at that one, because I knew that was my old Mew. One more left, this one with the cap from the boy on the ground, as if he left it. “Here lies TOBI” was all it said, which I assume was because there was no need to put anything else. After that, the game reset, and a text box appeared on the file screen. “The save file has been deleted! An old file has been recovered!” was what it said, and when I looked at the old file, it was my old file, with the character named TOBI. I cried out of happiness at this, as I knew that I now had my old Pokemon, which I cherished deeply.

Pokemon bloody red version

First I would like to say I didn’t write this story I just typed it up.  I don’t really know who wrote this, I just found it written on a piece of paper left on my desk today, along with an old pokemon red ver. which I plan to play after I post this.

like all creepypasta reading this with scary music enhances the experience

Pokemon bloody red.

Red, blue, yellow, silver, gold crystal, ruby, sapphire, fire red, leaf green, emerald, diamond, pearl, platinum, heart gold, soul silver, these are all the pokemon games that have been released so far.

Like most players you most likely switched from one game to the next. But do you remember your first game? Better question is do you remember your pokemon that you had in your party? Do you remember what you named them? How much you cared about them? No?

You have forgotten I imagine. Yes?

It’s not uncommon for people to care about something so much only to abandon it when something new appears. But abandoning is one thing forgetting is another.

For if one is never truly dead if someone remembers them.

But enough with the questions, for I would like to tell you a story, a story of what happened to me not long ago.

I was rummaging through the junk in my room getting rid of the old junk so the new junk had a place to be. I don’t mind cleaning too much because every once in a while I would find something that would distract me enough to stop cleaning. This was one of those days. I had just lifted a large box of my legos out of my closet when my eyes rested upon a pokemon red version next to my game boy pocket.

After quickly cleaning both off I quickly jumped onto my bed, and snapped in the game before turning it on.

The Game started up like normal with its battle of Nidorino battleing a Gangar. Seeing that there was no save file I quickly hit the new game button, everything seemed normal I entered Herodude as my fake name and Assclown as my rivals before being placed in my character room.

I headed down the stairs quickly talking to his mom before heading outside and running towards and into the tall grass.

Then screen went blank.

Angry I hit the reset button; this time the game started me up in professor oak’s lab except no one was at the front. Walking to the back of the lab I saw that professor oak was not there as well, but there on the table were you select your first pokemon lay a single pokeball. Confused but curious I walked over and picked it up.

The text box appeared and said you picked up a letter.

Opening my item screen I selected it. Another text box appeared this time filling the screen before stopping. After a few seconds the screen stayed blank. I pressed B, the box didn’t vanish, angrily I hit it again, but this time I felt a stab of pain on my thumb causing me to drop my gameboy pocket in surprise. My thumb quickly started to bleed, dripping a few drops of blood on to the ground before I wrapped it in one of my discarded shirts before running to the bathroom to the first aid kit. After wrapping my thumb I returned to my room and picked up the gameboy pocket curious as to what pricked me. That’s when I saw the blood on the screen. I watched in amazement as the blood seeped in to the screen and slowly a sentence appeared.

Why did you leave me?

A cold shiver went up my spine as I read these words. Confused and a little spooked I picked the game up. After pressing the a button a few times with no change, an idea struck me as I carefully took off my bandage letting a few drops hit the screen. Slowly the blood seeped through and more words appeared.

…

I fought for you…

…

So why did you make me alone?

…

I followed you with out question…

…

So why did you abandon me?

…

I did my best. Why was that not good enough?

…

WHY DID YOU FORGET ME!!!!!!!!!

The screen went black and when it reappeared I was at the pokemon center right before the elite four. Once again everything was normal except there was no one around.

Something nagged at me, this wasn’t right games don’t do this. But still I continued playing I mean this was a game, As I entered the first room, I was met with a single sigh that lay where the first elite should be. Upon examining it I was met with a white screen. After a few moments of nothing I relished what it wanted.  I lifted my thumb over the screen and with my other hand squeezed it letting a few more drops landing on the screen. Then once again words appeared.

Do you remember how it was?

…

We were happy then.

…

It was just you and I?

…

No of course you don’t

…

But I do.

The words vanished yet they remained in graved in my mind as I entered the next room.

The second room was like how I found the first except that there was black haze covering the ground in a black cloud, and as I made my way in I swore to examine the 2nd sigh that the smoke had crept into my room with me. Like the others the sigh was blank, taking my thumb I pressed it against the screen letting my blood seep it to the screen. Taking it away only when the words appeared.

I thought you were my friend,

…

I thought we were friends,

…

I thought you cared about me.

…

I loved you.

The third room was so shrouded in the black haze that It felt like it was suffocating me it darkness as I read the sigh.

I did everything to make you happy

…

I walked hundreds of miles.

…

Crossed oceans.

…

Climbed mountains

…

I went beyond that of what I thought I could do…

…

I did it all for you.

…

But you didn’t care

…

YOU NEVER CARED!!!!!!!!!

I could feel the sweat all over my body as I entered the forth room. It was almost completely dark that it was all most impossible to read the sigh as I got to it

Do you remember this place?

…

This is where you left me.

…

Do you remember yet?

…

How you tossed me away, after all I did

…

Do you remember me yet? ———(This part was to smudged to read)

I could feel my hands shake with fear as I read my name written in the red text.

I felt like I was burning up as entered the last room, the screen lit up and began to flicker like a strobe light; fire lay scattered around the room. In the center lay the bodies of elite 4 and my rival burning and bleeding. A figure slowly walked out of the flame, coming towards me, it was a Charzard.

Another text box appeared.

I did it, I did this for you, and I killed them for you.

…

Are you happy with me now?

…

Can we be friends again?

…

No I guess we can’t this isn’t good enough either is it … not for me anyways

…

What you did was unforgivable.

…

You forgot me…

…

Do you know what its like?

…

What it’s like to be alone… all alone?

…

Do you know what its like to be forgotten?

…

No…no I don’t think you do…

…

But you will…

…

BECAUSE IT’S YOUR TURN!!!!!

I screamed at the gameboy pocket and tossed it at the wall in fright smashing it to pieces, before turning and leaping off my bed and running towards the door.

Only to find a man in a yellow jacket opening the door. I jumped back and hit the floor in fear as he slowly walked in, his eyes sweeping back and forth across the room.

 “Ok this ones clear looks like everyone got out in time.” The firemen said as he walked out the door.

I lay there stunned as my eye watched him fade from my existence.

That was four weeks ago or at least I think it has been. I have lost track of time completely, I have not seen anyone since that day. While I have tried leaving my room to find someone, I can’t make it past my door. Its feels like some invisible force keeps me here. Though it seems rather pointless now I guess. During these weeks I have begun to remember who that Charzard was.

His name was Firebolt, my very first pokemon on pokemon red, I was around 6 years old when I first picked up the game. I was so happy that I didn’t even make it to the car before I started my game quickly choosing Charmander; I nicknaming him Firebolt before setting out on my journey. Firebolt was my main and only pokemon; him and me swept the floor with all the gyms with out problem since I kept feeding him with every rare candy I could find.

But then I remembered my dismay and annoyance when our wining streak finally came to a halt at the elate 4 when I learned of the level 100 cap.

All that training and time that I spent had been for nothing, being the stubborn child I was I blamed Firebolt and attempted to start a new game this time taking bulbasaur only to find that my game would not save over my other game angry and frustrated I went with my mother to the place we had first gotten it after asking if I had attempted to catch misingno, or what ever.

After answering his questions he took the game and offered to replace it with the new pokemon yellow version. Which I eagerly accepted, From then on I switched from version to version. Yellow to gold, to ruby, and finally to soul silver. I had so quickly forgotten him just like all my pokemon.

But just because you forget something doesn’t make it vanish…and Firebolt didn’t want to be forgotten, just like we all do.

So now I sit here in my room

Alone….

And Forgotten…

Do you know what its like to be completely forgotten?

Well I do now…

But don’t feel sad…

For one day you will too.

Tears Of Fire

I had wanted to play pokemon again for a while. Especially with all the hype about pokemon black and white coming out. I know i played it before as a kid, but i cant really remember that much about it. A lot’s happened since then, and you kind of lose track of the things you loved.

Anyway, i was at my grans house, bored, when i had the sudden urge to go in the attic. I thought maybe some of my old stuff would be up there. Might give me something to do. Rumaging through the boxes i found something that made my heart leap. A shiny blue gameboy advance cartridge with the words pokemon sapphire written across the front. And my old gameboy advance SP.

I remembered this game. Slightly. I know it was a birthday present from my mother but thats all. I cant even remember playing on it. Tapping the dust off it, I slotted the game into the back of the SP and flicked the switch. Good. It worked. The title came up, again which i vaguely remembered. I skipped most of the intro, and soon got to the part where you rescue prof Birch. I studied the pokemon, wondering which one i should choose. But one instantly stood out. Torchic. I immediatly pressed A. I told myself it was because it looked cute. But deep down i knew… it seemed familiar….

I named it Chicky. Simple and yet highly accurate. It was, after all, a chick. I took the game and rushed back to my room, excited at my find. Switching on the computer, i eagerly told my friend the good news. But she seemed more…. wary… than anything. She told me about creepypasta’s and how most of the stories were based on old cartridge games that had been found mysteriously. She warned me to be careful. To keep an eye out for anything strange. I should have listened.

I looked back at the screen and pulled up Chicky’s stats. All looked good. But again, that cry, it was like i had heard it before. I shrugged it off and continued to play. I loved Chicky so much I decided to try and take on the pokemon league with him alone. I didnt want to catch anyone else. The first few gyms were a breeze. Chicky grew much faster than i expected. I played every day when i got home from college and soon Chicky was ready to evolve. I waited in anticipation to see my new pokemon, but the animation stopped, and a text box appeared.

Chicky doesnt want to change! Chicky loves you!

O-kay? Is that meant to happen? Like everything else, i shrugged it off. And i kept playing. Each day Chicky grew stronger and each day the bond between us grew. Until we got to the point where i had to catch another pokemon. I needed a water type to use surf. Slightly annoyed that i couldnt live out my dream of using only Chicky, i headed to the sea and began fishing. Soon i found a tentacool, and Chicky was sent out to battle. But its backsprite looked different. Angry.

I quickly caught the tentacool, but instead of the nickname box coming up, the screen went black, and a text box appeared.

You said you only wanted Chicky

What? This game was weird. It went back to the overworld and healed up the tentacool and checked its stats. All looked normal until i saw its nickname.

Abandoned

What? I never even got chance to nickname it! What was it doing? Determined not to be outsmarted by a jellyfish, i went to the name rater to have its name changed. But the name rater just said

I-I dont think you should change its name…. Chicky is angry….

What did that have to do with Chicky? Irritated by the name rater not doing my bidding, i checked Chicky’s stats. I wasnt wrong about it looking angry. It looked furious and its beady eyes glared out at me from the screen. I exited the menu and walked back outside. No wild pokemon appeared. And no trainers would battle me.

All the would say is

Chicky is angry….

I was starting to get pretty angry too. I wandered around like this for about an hour before my sprite did the escape rope animation. Before i knew it i was in the pokemon league, standing where the champion normally stood. But it was empty. Which is why i jumped out of my skin when a battle started. Me vs… Chicky?!

It was chicky alright, right down to the nasty look in its eyes. I sent out the tentacool, Abandon. I didnt want to hurt Chicky. But i couldnt run. All i could do was fight. Even though it was newly caught, Abandon was a water type, so with every attack we wore down the little fire birds health. And every time it attacked back, a text box appeared first, and every time Chicky looked a little sadder.

You said you only wanted Chicky

You lied to Chicky

You said you loved Chicky

You abandoned Chicky

Chicky’s HP soon fell to 0. But instead of fainting, the sprite turned. Literally turned so it was facing me. The real me.

Chicky used CURSE! Chicky died!

It used curse? Died? What? On returning to the overworld, i found myself on a mountain, littered with gravestones. I recognised it as mt pyre. The pokemon graveyard. Walking along a little, i saw a sprite in the grass. A torchic. As i approached it ran off screen. I followed it and soon it led me to the top, and it stood in front of the altar.

Another, final text box.

You abandoned Chicky. PAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game froze and a high, screechy note played on a loop. I dropped my SP as it suddenly became scalding hot. It clattered to the floor and the screen went black.

I looked at my hands. they were covered in blisters. I sat breathing heavily for a few minutes before i realised it was dark. The lights were off. Powercut? I quickly drew back my curtains and glanced down the road. Yep, everyone elses lights were off too. Using my phone as a torch, I wandered downstairs, only to find the house empty. Where was everyone? Retreating to my bedroom, i pulled back the curtains again to see if i could spot anyone. And i saw something that made my heart stop. A small shape. Only just visible in the dark. It was standing in the road, looking up at my room. At me. It was small. Like a bird. A chick. I let the curtains fall back into place and breathed hard. It couldnt be. Pokemon isnt real. I thought to myself, and summoning all my courage, i peeked back through the curtains. And i almost screamed. It was closer. It was in the garden. Staring up at my window.

I dropped my phone. The room was momentarily dark, as i scrambled to pick it back up. As soon as my hand touched it, it began to ring. Shaking, i looked at the number. 255. Not wanting to answer, but fearing the consequences if i didnt, i pressed answer and held the phone to my ear. A loud screech echoed out, almost deafening me. I dropped the phone again, but when it hit the ground the battery fell out. I was left in darkness again. I recognised that cry. It was distorted, twisted, yes. But it was a torchic.

My heart was pounding. But i didnt pick my phone up. Because something else had caught my eye. The light of the moon outside was casting a shadow against my curtains. A sillhouette. Knowing i would probably regret it, i stretched out my hand and ripped the curtain open. Torchic, Chicky, was standing on my window ledge, its face pressed up against the glass, its eyes burning into mine, filled with fury and hatred.

One last ear splitting screech. And everything went black.

While cleaning and moving around some things, my mom came across an old copy of Leaf Green that I had already given up finding and already replaced.  I recalled that I was doing a scramble challenge when I lost the game.  Since I couldn’t remember any of the pokemon I was supposed to use, I decided to just start a new game.

So I went through the game, nothing weird happening.  I eventually went through the gyms and trained up my team in preparation for the Elite 4.  I beat them one by one, and then finally got past Lance.  He said that my rival was waiting, but then said that there may be others as well.

Though I thought that was a little strange, I walked through to meet my rival.

Only he was dead.

His sprite was facedown in a pool that I assumed was his own blood.  None of his pokemon were around, probably also dead or scared off.  Then the room went dark, with only a small circle of light around me, like I just stepped into a dark cave.  I didn’t have a flash-able pokemon with me, so it was impossible for me to even attempt to light up the room.

Then a text box appeared.  Only it wasn’t a box from the 3rd gen games.  Instead, it looked like it was from the old monocrome 1st gen games.  It had the same font and everything.

“You forgot us,” it said, before another circle of light appeared to show a Dragonite sprite on the other end of the room.

“Deleted us, just to start over,” another text box said, then a light came on to reveal a Zapdos.

“Remember the battles we won you?” a third box said, before a Mewtwo showed up.

“The time we spent together?” the fourth said, when an Articuno became visible.

“It seems that meant nothing to you,” the fifth said, then an Arcanine came up.

“You threw us away when you were done with us,” the sixth and final box said, then the last light shined on a Tangela.

It took me a minute, but I finally recognized them.  They were my competitive team when I played the 1st Gen games.  My only competitive team, since I found breeding for IVs and training for EV’s made things dull.  So I just concentrated my energy and time on the single player game.

It was an effective team, at least back then.  But being in high school meant the competitive and trading scene when it came to pokemon was pretty thin.  So I eventually deleted the game and started over to enjoy it all over again.

Their movesets would never stand up to a well trained team nowadays, but they were all still at Level 100, and my pokemon were a little over half that.  Plus, I didn’t remember most of their movesets, though bits and pieces were coming back to me.

Then the room became bright again, and I saw a Butterfree behind them.  The same Butterfree that was part of the Scramble challenge I deleted.  It was fluttering behind them, like it was being protected.

“I was your most recent deletion, just because you couldn’t remember what you were supposed to have,” it said.  “You could have just continued and played it like a normal game, but you just deleted that one too, and start over.”

Finally, I got control of my character back.  With no way to leave, all I could do was walk forward, and the battle began.

First, the Butterfree showed up opposite my trainer sprite, and it looked angry.  The text box under it said “Vengeful Butterfree wants to battle”.  It’s team was the Level 100 competitive team that I saw before.

Long story short, I was defeated.  I tried to expose the weaknesses I remembered that their movesets would have nowadays, and used whatever I could to use type advantage.  But even all that couldn’t stand up to pokemon 50 levels above my own.

“Now that you ran out of pokemon to fight with,” the Butterfree said after I ran out.  “We can extract our revenge.  You ended our lives when we were deleted, and now we will end yours.”

As the pokemon started to slowly kill my character, I started feeling the same pain that my character would feel if he was real.  Every slash, every shock, every beam.  With blood pooling out of my physical body, I fell to the floor.  I tried to reach for my nearby cell phone to call 911, but didn’t have the strength.

As my vision faded, I saw these words on the DS screen:

Now we “deleted” you in your world.

So Alone

Have you ever wondered why pallet town  was always so distant? the only time you ever went there was when you absolutely have to. Or was that just me? A few weeks ago i picked a ROM of Pokemon blue online, i was feeling nostalgic and i had lost my Pokemon Blue long before this. i had just finished yet another successful play through with, thanks to hacking, a 100% complete pokedex. instead of just deleting the game i felt like i wanted to get a little  more out of this trip. so i decided to add a bit more data here and there, an extra section in the safari zone, a secret passage from Mr. Fugi’s house to a grave yard in Pokemon tower that housed a Duduo and a Raticate, I’m a big fan of the manga and that story about Gary, and finally some wild Pokemon data in pallet town. however while i was playing through these areas i realised that I’d somehow managed to place a rogue grass tile in your house just below the T.V.. I don’t know how i managed to do it but like some sort of OCD sufferer i had to fix it there and then before it drove me insane.

While i was fixing it i noticed that there was also an extra warp inside the house, now i know that this couldn’t have been me as i hadn’t touched warps in pallet town let alone your own house. but i had to tidy this up too.

This warp wasn’t normal though, it had co-ordinates to an uknown location that wasn’t even registered in the hacking tool. but along with this the coding was sloppy, it had childish errors that would have been seen by a novice beta tester. So why had this been aloud to happen?

After fixing it i went back to my game, feeling serene now that the game was tidy and error free. because of this I’d forgotten about the mysterious room, so after about twenty minutes of running around my customised areas i decide to go and check out the place.

After a swift entrance to pallet town on a severely under leved Pidgey something odd happened. my character turned to face me and a text box appeared. it said;
‘…’
Baffled at what had just happened i hardly noticed that my character had already turned and began to enter route 1.

My immediate instinct was to walk back in there to see if the event would repeat itself. It did, and I repeatedly triggered the event many times before i became frustrated that the cluster of pixels wouldn’t obey my commands!

I tried one final time to walk into my own house, expecting on quite an obvious level that the same thing would happen. However this time i was greeted with a yes/no box. I clicked on yes through the furious button mashing i had began a few seconds earlier. And the sprite moved forward a single step.
I’ll admit i was glad that i could get back inside pallet town but i couldn’t help feel a wave of unpleasantness sweep across me, i couldn’t pin down what it was but it felt slightly like guilt. But why?

I entered my house to find it empty. I blew it off, after all, its not exactly the weirdest thing to happen in the play through. I walked through the empty room and towards the stairs, and entered them. this part really surprised me, what i entered wasn’t a messed up glitch room but a relatively normal corridor with another set of stairs and a door. making an assumption that the stairs were going to lead me towards my room i chose to enter the door.

I was greeted with a bedroom. a rather cliche teenagers bedroom at that, was this the protagonists sibling? i didn’t know.

I walked towards what looked like the bed and clicked at at the person laying in there.

A text box appeared;
‘Mom…’

Next thing my character turned and ran from the room as the screen slowly faded to black.
‘…’

Another text box appeared: ‘PKMN Trainer Gold would like to battle’

Help.

It always amazes me how many gen I and II games are filled with the death and ghosts. You rarely hear of a copy of Emerald going on the fritz and your team conspiring to kill you in your sleep.

Presumably, they fired the necromancers working on the game sometime around the beginning of gen III. As such, despite my paranoia, I always bought my used, old, labelled-with-only-a-marker with the old child owners name scribbled on there with pride copies of Ruby and up with confidence.

After a jerkass ex-friend bricked my Platinum cartridge with an Action Replay, I set out to buy another copy. I was quite pissed, honestly, Platinum was my favorite in the series so far, I had a great team, and now it was all literally in the trash.

Despite this, I happily bought a used copy of Platinum from the local Game Exchange. It was only the cartridge, but that was okay, since that meant it was a fair deal cheaper. The cartridge itself looked normal, except the label was torn a little. Oh well, that just meant the person before me had fun with it.

When I got back to my apartment, I threw the game in and fired it up. Nothing was really off at this point, except the game freezed for a second in the opening, when Cyrus was staring at you. But, everything else ran normally.

The save file already on there was okay, too. Nothing out of the ordinary, the player character was a girl named Rose who had a Torterra, a Crobat, a Typhlosion, a Jigglypuff, and two eggs. I decided to screw around on the game a bit and hatched the eggs. One had a Zubat, the other was a Quilava.

Okay, cool. Nothing bad. I started a new game, picked Chimchar, and played through the game normally. However, when I got to Lake Verity for the first time and saw Cyrus, the game freezed again for a few seconds. Troublesome, but it resumed like normal… but when Cyrus approached me and my rival, there was a bit of a pause before the dialog box showed up. When it opened, there were the ellipsies and then, after his polite “Please stand aside”, in light grey, barely noticeable… “Help.”

I blinked. Was that always there? Did I discover some weird secret that no one ever noticed? It was so simple, too. Nothing like “Die” or “SELL YOUR SOUL TO GIRATINA”, just “Help”. Oddly enough, it made it a good bit creepier.

I shook it off and continued the game like normal. Nothing really odd happened until I encountered Cyrus again. As he asked to pass by, another little message in light grey. “Please help.”

I feel like I should pause here and say that I romanticize villains quite a bit, especially pokemon villains since I grew up with them. Giovanni proved himself a good dad in the manga, Archie and Maxie just wanted to help the world (before going completely batshit), and Cyrus most certainly did not have the best of childhoods. So, having my favorite pokemon villain ask simply for help was one part heartwrenching, 9 parts creepy.

The game continued on, until I met him again in Coronet. The speech about time and space, blah blah blah.

This time, his little plead was in plain black and white. “Help me.” Another little strange pause, the audio skipped for a second… and Cyrus continued on his way.

I slaughtered my way through the game due to my habit of overleveling, and found my way against Cyrus in Celestic Town. His speech and battle were normal, no weirdness there. I was a little disappointed, honestly, I wanted to find out what would happen next.

My wish was granted in Galactic HQ. After making my way to Cyrus, hearing a bit of his speech, the game froze, audio skipped, and suddenly I was faced with a dialog box full of ellipses, before a new part of the speech. I grabbed a pen and a piece of paper and quickly recorded it down for posterity.

“I’ve asked you a lot before… have you been listening? I’ve merely been asking you to help. Will you? Will you help me?”

A “Yes” or “No” selection box came up. Stupidly, I picked no.

There was another freeze, and the audio stopped. Another box full of ellipses, and the battle against him started.

Nothing changed. No new dialog, no nothing. He just said he’d wait on Mount Coronet.

When I got to the top of the spear pillar, something was wrong. No one was there except Cyrus and me. No Cynthia, no Mars or Jupiter. We were alone. The speech was the same, he was sucked into the Disortion World like normal and I followed through, with no Cynthia.

When I got to the bottom, his speech changed again. There was something… shaky about the dialog, as if the text was moving, and the text itself varied in size. When it appeared on scream, sometimes certain words would disappear and then were retyped, almost for emphasis. I copied it down again, every little stutter.

“Why didn’t you help? I asked you and and and you rejected me. I just needed help. Help. Help.”

The audio in the Distortion World crackled and there was a high-pitched buzzing noise. Everything in Distortion World seemed to shift, twist, and suddenly it was just me and Cyrus standing in a glitchy, pixelly mess that reminded me of the old Glitch City in Red.

Cyrus just seemed to stare at me for a few minutes before the dialog started up again in the world between dimensions.

“whydidn’tyouhelp Whydidn’tyouhelp WhyDidn’tYouHelp WHYDIDN’TYOUHELP WHYDIDN’TYOUHELP WHYDIDN’TYOUHELP WHYDIDN’TYOUHELP WHYDIDN’TYOUHELP!?”

The game froze again before flashing betwen sets of images, an empty Distortion World, blank screens with dialog boxes of “Help”, and finally, the screen in the opening of the game where Cyrus stares at you… but there was something wrong: Where his eyes should’ve been was simply a dark, black void.

I turned off the game, and when it started back up, my save file was wiped. I was a bit relieved. No more nightmares, I guess.

I started the game up again as I am a glutton for punishment. It played through like it did before, with the hidden messages in the dialog. But I was playing just to do one thing different.

In the Galactic HQ, I said “Yes” when Cyrus acted if I would help. His dialog was nothing but ellipses… and then a simple “Thank you”.

No battle. Cyrus walked into one of the teleporters and disappeared. When I went to the lab, it was empty. The lake spirits had already been released.

There was no battle on the Spear Pillar. I could just go on and beat Volkner. I could go on and beat the Elite Four.

Some NPCs I talked to mentioned how it was strange that the leader of Team Galactic suddenly disbanded the team. So, me reaching out to Cyrus lead to him disbanding Galactic? Awesome. But where had he gone?

When I reached Route 228, I had an answer. I found Cyrus in his grandfather’s house. His grandfather would say how happy he was that his grandson turned out so nice. Talking to Cyrus was a simple “Thank you for saving me.”

I still have the copy and probably won’t be turning it in any time soon. I think I like this ending for Cyrus a little better.

"???" Trainer name

You know, I always used to try and find out which pokemon game has the best hacks. Like Pokemon Chaos Black? Yeah, well my friend Lin bought me Pokemon Crystal. Which was a coincidence cause it was the only one that was able to save data out of the four games he’d bought [And the one that cost the most]. I decided to play it last night, but now looking back I really shouldn’t have.

I started out with everything not noticeable to me. Game didn’t show Prof. Oak at all in the beginning, it only asked me for my name [which I always set to Derek]. And that was it. Then the game started. Everything looked completely different to what I was supposed to be seeing. Everything was pretty much red.. and it obviously seemed I had gotten a hacked up game. [I mean, it’s not like I would hack it. The only kind of thing I have is Action replay which doesn’t work on a gameboy]

I tried to ignore all the weirdness going on. My character didn’t even walk, he just.. limped. Well, that’s what it looked like to me. When I received my pokemon, that was pretty much the only thing not messed up to happen. I chose Cyndaquill, and I hadn’t noticed anything different about except it’s color. I always wanted to start out with a shiny, I thought it was pretty cool.

I then started to walk around and made it to Mr. Pokemon and all. Once I met my “rival” things got weirder. We were battling outside, but it put graphics like we were inside a dark cave with red walls.. weird. That wasn’t all, even my rival looked weird. He had no name and had very, very long red hair. You could barely see his eyes. Even after the battle and farther through the game he never got a name. I went back to the lab to give the egg.. but no one was there. They said something terrible was going on, but I didn’t think it like this.. So I just tried to, again, ignore everything. It was hard to, so I had to keep playing even if it was past midnight. No more people, no one showed up. All the sprites were gone. Whenever I got into a wild pokemon battle, there was no pokemon sprite. Trainer battles were worse. Each trainer sprites name tried to say something, and each trainer was disfigured in a different way. It was kinda sad to look at, it was worrying me. I even got a call from My player’s “mother”. She stopped me to talk.. But, she didn’t say anything besides the word help. The trainer’s I mentioned? I wrote down their names to see if they really did Spell out something or gave a hint to anything. I wrote them in the order I saw them.

It said, “GO BACK TO ???”

What? Now I was really confused.. was he talking about my rival? First thing I was going to do was go back to mom. I went back to my house, but no one was there. There was something that told me inside “YOU WERE TOO LATE”. I knew it.. I walked outside, and there he was. The mystery trainer, he had no name so what else was I supposed to call him? I went up and tried to talk to him, but he didn’t say anything either. It was “………” And then we got into a battle. He looked a lot different now. His hair was messy, he was missing an arm, and he was kneeling on the ground. He looked miserable.. And now, I had to fight him, I wouldn’t just turn off the game. I’d been pulled into it, I kept playing. He sent his pokemon out.. It looked horrible. He had a Totodile.. It’s cry was a high-pitched, disfigured, piercing screech. It looked they they were both crying and depressed.. completely miserable. The Totodile was Lv.0, and it’s only move was.. Perish song. I was getting a little afraid now. [“This game was completely fucked up.. Why would anyone wanna do this to a game. It’s.. real addicting, though.”]

???: Why..

Is the he talking to me, now?

???: Why did…

Perish song count to 2.

???: It can’t..

???: …………

      ………….

Perish song Count to 1

I’m thinking what the hell was going on? This was never supposed to happen..

???: No! Never.. Be over……

       ………..

       ………..

Perish song Count to 0

     fainted !

CYNDAQUIL fainted!

……….

???: No…

Then the battle was over. But the game was still the same, all red and disfigured.

I decided to save and turn it off then back on.

I did.. But the beginning where it’s supposed to show the little movie was now replaced with a bunch of piercing screams, and high-pitched wails. There was a bunch of random lines and blocks on the screen, as if it froze.

I could make out some words, and then I saw “???”

Nitro

Did you ever think about what happens to the pokemon when you delete the save file? About where they go? I never did, but I do now. It started on a normal day, like any other. I was making my way through my HeartGold with a fantastic team: Astrid the Slowking, Hazel the Furret, Clyde the Pidgeotto (he hadn’t evolved yet), Ampere the Ampharaos, Destroyer the shiny Gyarados from the Lake of Rage…and my Typhlosion, Nitro. They weren’t the best team, but they won battles for me.

I had just gotten into a battle with a Team Rocket scientist when I noticed my DSi battery was low. I must’ve jostled the game card as I plugged it in or something, because when I took it off the charger, the game was frozen. Whimpering slightly and hoping I had saved after training up Destroyer to the level of my team, I shut off the game and turned it back on. My last save was facing down the shiny Gyarados.

Being the lazy ass that I am, I decided starting over would be better than going through all the battles again. I picked a Totodile this time around, and soft-reset to get a female I named Alvina for some reason. The game went normally: my rival, Soul, stole the Chikorita, Ethan taught me how to catch pokemon, I totally owned Soul, etc. Things only got creepy after I beat Bugsy.

When I turned on my game again, I was in the Pokemon Center. This was weird, because I was sure I had saved outside the gym. The center had a sort of…odd aura  to it, and it made me feel funny. Then I realized: no one but Nurse Joy was there. Even the usual attendants upstairs were gone. When I talked to the nurse, all she said was “He’s waiting for you.”

I turned around and talked to my Zubat, Dart. He shivered and a frowny face came up “Dart feels strange…” The same thing happened with my Pikachu: “Rei doesn’t feel well.” I switched out to my starter. “Alvina is terrified of something!” This was seriously creeping me out. I headed outside.

Azalea Town was in ruin. The Pokemon Center had several holes in it, as did the Pokemart. Bugsy’s Gym was still burning, and the entrance to Slowpoke well was blocked off. When I tried to go back, a text box popped up. “No…I need to see him…” My character turned around and walked back a few paces. I explored a bit, until another text box came up. “He grows impatient!”

My character did the Escape Rope animation, and the screen went black. Before it reappeared, I recognized the sound: Cinnabar’s funeral march-like music. Instead off appearing in front of the Pokemon Center like I expected, I was on top of the volcano. The back of the walking sprite of a Typholsion was on the opposite end of the crater.

Another text box popped up. “So…” it said. “Do you remember me?” The screen went black again. A distorted cry screamed through the speakers, and I winced. Then, battle music played.

“Your Nitro would like to battle!”

“Nitro sent out Astrid!” My beloved Slowking appeared, and I sent out Alvina. But when I tried to attack, it said, “Alvina is terrified! Alvina did not attack!”

“Astrid used Wish!”

“I wish I was good enough for you…”

“Wish failed!” I cried out as her health started to deplete. “NO!” The health stopped going down. It was in the red. “Would you like to reclaim your Astrid?” said the text box. A yes/no option appeared. I mashed the A button and Astrid disappeared. “Astrid was reclaimed!”

The same thing happened for all the other pokemon, save Nitro. They all Wished something different:

“I Wish I was alive…”

“I Wish we were still here…”

“I Wish the pain would go…”

“I Wish you loved us more…”

I reclaimed them all. Finally, the text box announced. “Nitro sent out himself!” Nitro reappeared, and I held back a gasp. His sprite was normal, save the eyes. They were completely red with… “Nitro used Rage!”

“Alvina fainted from fear!” This happened with Rei and Dart as well. “Trainer Lyra sent out herself!”

“Do you still miss me?” Another yes/no option came up. I hesitantly clicked yes. “I DON’T BELIEVE YOU!” Another distorted cry rang, and I recognized it as a mangled Typhlosion cry.

“Nitro used Death Wish!”

“Alvina has died!”

“Rei has died!”

“Dart has died!”

“Lyra has no usable pokemon left! Would you like to reclaim Nitro?” Yes. “Nitro was reclaimed! Nitro missed you!” The game turned itself off. I clicked it on again, and to my relief, my old save was back. It had even saved before the team Rocket scientist battle, which I quickly won with Astrid.

The moral of this story? Be careful when you delete your file. They will remember you. And they might take their revenge.

Stab

by Zukdeen/Andrew.

~~~~~~~~- Look at my Gallade!
Everybody was jealous of my. My Kirlia finally had evolved into a Gallade, with the help of a weird stone my daddy gave to me, and it was my favorite Pokémon
It was a Wednesday and we had our break at the Pokémon Trainers School, which I was spending with my Gallade and my friends.
Everything was really cool, however…
- Here comes he again! -my friend, Peter, shouted.
And we all saw him.
John, a really bad and older guy came running here. He bullied me the whole past year, and I’m sure he had heard about me having a new Pokémon.
- Look what we have here… the crybaby and its stupid Pokémon -he said.
- Leave me alone!
- Are you going to call your silly Pokémon to save you, baby?
- No! Just… go away!
He picked me up and he was going to punch me, I could feel his fist near my head but while I was shouting “Help me! Help me someone!”, I heard the most terrifying scream ever.
It was John, screaming.
Gallade had stabbed him.
Light-Blue Eyes
by Andrew/Zukdeen.
OH MY GOD, MOM, THANKS!
Was everything I could shout… I can’t believe my luck finished that day.
I’ve always been a Pokémon fan, since I was 5, and now even with my fourteen years, I’m still a fan. I’ve had a lot of Pokémon games: Gold, Crystal, Blue, Red, Yellow, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Platinum, HeartGold and I was waiting for the new releases of Pokémon Black and White.
My mother, knowing I was a Pokémon fan, once came with a bag, which was handed to me. Her words, I can remember them. “Take it”, she said. “Take it as your birthday gift”, she repeated and then left.
Blood Stained Leaf
I awoke to the day I was to begin my journey, the life of a Pokemon Trainer!
As I awoke I walked downstairs, hoping for a smiling welcome, as I always do…
…….
There was nothing there.
No one to welcome me, this is my house. I live alone, I’m not really on a Pokemon Journey at all.
The tall grass has already died by this time, what’s left of it is very scarce. The Oak family has already abandoned this little town.
There’s nothing here except for me and a few others, so I might as well step out of the town for a while.
I checked my storage for a potion, then quickly went off… my first stop was to take a look at the abandoned lab…but the doors were shut…
It would have been nice growing up with a Pokemon, not fearing what’s out there, being no different from the fun-loving trainers who have gone savage…
That’s right… Pokemon? haha…those barely exist in this world…only a few trainers have them, and the ones out in the wild are ones that can survive all this decay.
I looked around me as I walked towards Viridian City, all that surrounded me was flowers where Pokemon and tall grass once stood. Now there’s nothing.
As I arrive in Viridian City…I begin to hear a sad tune, and feel quite lonely. I look around…no one’s there, the Pokemon center is empty… it’s lights are closed, and- wait, what’s that?
As the corner of my eye caught a glimpse of light, I realized the PokeMart was still open… that’s strange…everyone in Viridian City is gone… why would there even be a light on in the store?
I decided it would be best to check…maybe someone was there?
My hands were sweaty, and my palm reached out to touch the glass door- it opened!
Finally, maybe there was someone here… I entered… I saw no one.
All the products on the shelves remained, I thought it would be a bit of a good idea to take some of them- then I heard a voice.
“That’s not nice girly” I turned my head in panic as I thought the store was empty… it was… maybe that was my guilt bothering me…
I decided to put them back and apologize aloud… not like that would do me any good…
“It’s alright, it’s dangerous for girls your age to be wandering around these parts”
I stood still, shivering…I quickly asked who was there…and received no answer…
I began to walk out, but then I heard something and quickly turned my head.
On the counter stood a blood-stained dagger. Frightened, I approached it, I heard the voice again…
“Take it, this is for you.” I jumped up, screamed asking for answers… I only got a short response that he was the ghost of the previous store owner…
“You need to defend yourself young miss, you have no Pokemon.”
I didn’t need his help…but that didn’t stop me from taking the dagger… I thanked him and accepted it, as I walked towards Viridian Forest.
Approaching the forest, I could see some Cubones lazing in the grass peacefully…this was the closest tall grass to any actual wild Pokemon…they look so much at ease…
However, naturally…if death is around, Cubone is always at ease…
Walking around the forest, I could tell there were trainers looking for a fight…there may be tall grass here, but all the Pokemon here have left… they’re too frightened to approach these trainers, and with good reason.
I snuck through the tall grass, easily, trying to squirm my way around other trainers, even if I didn’t have Pokemon I knew I’d be attacked.
I began getting further, it was taking a long time, but I was making progress, that was of course, until I was spotted…
A smug Bug Catcher approached me, challenging me to a battle. I told him I owned no Pokemon and was merely making my way to Pewter City.
“Then who will my Bug Pokemon train against?”
“There are other trainers here.”
“But that’s not enough.”
“You’re all up to par here, I’m leaving.”
“I can’t let you do that.”
The Bug Catcher suddenly sent out a Weedle at me…hah, what a feeble bug. I quickly pulled out my dagger and stabbed it.
The trainer was shocked, I had killed one of his prized Pokemon. That doesn’t matter though, what difference does it make?
I could see anger in this trainer’s eyes, I had to run, I had to get out alive before- It was too late, he had sent out a much bigger Beedrill after me…
I did my best to avoid it’s attacks, slashing at it left and right. This is the way life has become for travellers, and Pokemon Trainers have become just as blood thirsty as their Pokemon.
As I went in for a strike against his Pokemon, I made a grave miscalculation, I was quickly struck by the Beedrill’s stinger… I’ve been poisoned…I need to use an Antidote on myself, but first I had to get out of here!
I took the Beedrill’s attack head on and impailed it’s forhead with my dagger, I watched as the Bug Catcher grew into more disarray, this was my chance, but not to run. I quickly lunged at him.
I destroyed his Pokeballs and began stabbing him consecutively, I had to kill him, or else he’d come after me again. With a final blow, I managed to slit his throat, I sat down by a tree and began drinking an Antidote I had picked up.
Looking at his dead body, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him, no, I couldn’t help but question him in my head. What posessed someone so young to become such a psychopath? Haha…here I am saying this when I just slaughtered him…
Ready to continue, I stood up, bandaging the strike from the Beedrill, the poison was gone, but the damage to my stomach is also pretty bad… I’ll be able to rest up when I reach the Pokemon Center in Pewter City…
I readied my knife in hand, and began to walk towards the end of the forest…
If anyone stands in my way again, well…I guess I’ll leave that to your imagination… Sorry people of Pallet Town…I’m going somewhere else where peace can be more than just a pipe dream.
The Poem Of The Imaginary Pikachu
I look into your amethyst eyes,
It’s like you don’t even recogize,
I’m sitting here beside you, honey.
Quit ignoring me, it’s not even funny.
I glance up at your face,
A pull at my mind’s lace,
I do everything to attempt to see,
If you will look at me.
I thought you loved me,
But, maybe that’s the key.
You’re ignoring me because you don’t love me anymore,
I thought you said you would love me forevermore,
Honey, I’m sorry, you want me back? No way.
Denial isn’t really all that great when you feel it, eh?
But it was that way all along, in your little land,
All along, I was invisible, your imaginary friend.
Here lies PIKACHU
The Day of Death
At the release of Red and Blue, I could tell that these games were going to be a hit. So after saving up my money, I finally got the game. It started up with impressive graphics for the Gameboy, and I started. But something was wrong.
There was a save file on it.
This was very unprecedented, because I got this game brand new. The player’s name was “woNeMllIk” I shrugged and decided to play his or her’s file, because I’m the type that loves spoilers.
I had seen that the person was at a store type of place. I figured out the simple controls quickly,(because I never read the manual) and walked out the door. This person was in Pallet town. I checked the pokemon, and there were none. This was weird, because you can’t have no pokemon after the intro, but the file said 60 hours had been spent on this game so far. So something was up.
I also soon found out that there WAS no pokemart in Pallet town after research on the computer, but I figured this was all a glitch. I walked north, and to my surprise, there was a group of people surrounding Professor Oak’s lab. I walked further, and the screen went black, and a few seconds later, I heard a crashing noise. About 5 minutes later, the screen came back up. It was playing a sad theme, to which long years later at the release of HG/SS, was essentially the 8-bit rendition of the ruined Cinnabar island. The music was sad, and it seemed to be alot more mournful and slowed down, like a Durge type of music. I walked around a bit, and nobody was there. The only thing that unsettled me was that the lab was now just a black spot. Finally, I walked up to who it later found as a citizen of Lavender Town talking about the spirits of pokemon.
But this was different.
This time he said,
“You hear this music? These are the moans of the people that YOU killed.”
Later I knew that was wrong. VERY wrong. You’re supposed to be a nice, pokemon loving trainer, but here, you’re killing your neighbors? But then, the screen went black again. But this time, a text box appeared. It said,
“Please…help me…we love you… w… k..w…o…. k…l ll ghs orjuudcjcgsvysyc”
This was weird, and I was creeped out by this. But then another popped up.
“I WAS KILLED. I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. NOW YOU WILL ACCEPT IT. STAY WITH ME FOREVER.”
Now this is REALLY creeping me out. It was almost if a child were to have this game before me.
I was lead back to the title screen. A new file was there, named
“YOUWILLSTAY”
Hesitantly, I closed my eyes. I did not know where this was going to lead me, but I’m a true gamer. True gamers press onwards. Plus, this is just a game, right?
Part two coming soon
